Freaking out. What are my chances ?

First, thanks to all who are taking time to respond to everybody's concerns.
I am happily married with kids and would not even think of HIV until last saturday night. Its Monday morning now.

I am not gay but was always a little curious, which never bothered me.
Last saturday, I was at a friend's place who I know is gay, had a few drinks and he started kissing me and one thing led to another and eventually I ended up inserting in to his ass without a condom. It was very brief (less than 45 secs - 4 or 5 pushes) and most likely just the head of my penis entered him. I pulled off before ejaculation. I asked him about his HIV status later, he joked and laughed that I would not get HIV out of what we did and moreover said that he is HIV -ve. I honestly believe that he is not lying to me but there can be a major chance that he does not know his status accurately. I know he is not into any relationship and meets a lot of guys and sure that he would not take a HIV test even if I ask him as he is very confident. As soon as I got home that night, I did my research and went to Urgent Care Sunday morning. I explained the situation but the doctor there said he doesnt know much about PEP and he had to research. In the meanwhile I was given a HIV test which was -ve. Later, he said the risk was low and prescribed Atripla for me for 28 days.
I was not sure if I wanted to start the medicine but also didnt want to put myself or wife at risk at any given chance. So took Atripla Sunday night (in less than 24 hrs of the incident). Had the worst hangover ever for few hours and horrible dreams which kept me awake for most part of the night. I am not worried too much if these are all the side effects I am going to have and willing to take the medicine for the next 27 days.
Can someone let me know if I am at risk ?

You did have a risk but from what you have described of the incident I would call it relatively low level risk. In general the risk is less for an insertive partner than it is for the receptive one. And we're talking about a single and short-lived incident. All of that leads me to expect that you will ultimately test negative.

As for doing PEP, I have doubts as to whether it is warranted, but then you may want to do it just to maximize the likelihood you will test negative. You can test initially at 6 weeks after the completion of PEP. Assuming the result is negative then in all likelihood you will test negative again at 3 months for a final, conclusive result.

I expect you to come out of this ok.
