This link helped me with my search for information. I was also seeking information about these procedures and products and was a bit afraid of injecting something not approved by the FDA. I chose PMMA like GSOgymrat did and am very happy with the results. I have my second session this March 3rd and a final touch up in May. It was costly but it is a one time fee because the product is considered permanent and lasts over 5 years once placed on the face. No touch ups required after the first three sessions and most of the product was placed during the first session which was a bit painful but worth it. I didn't go to Brazil nor Mexico nor Europe. Did mine in Puerto Rico with a doctor who does not promote this type of work and only chooses very few patients with lipo because he is a family doctor who has received training in Lipoatrophy and HIV. He only does it on hiv+ patients and loves to help us get our faces back. Only does it on Saturdays and does it on only 1-2 patients a day. It kills his back because he is standing while the patient is sitting for about two hours. He takes his time and is constantly stopping and analyzing the patients face. Very careful young man who knows the procedure is painful but let's the patient relax before continuing. I would not choose a doctor who does not have any experience or knowledge with lipo or hiv because it will continue and he has to know how to hide it through the filling sites and take caution on other areas of the face that are pron to the wasting. So do ask your doctor questions like how many patients with lipo have you performed the procedure and what studies have made him familiar with lipo and hiv. He just has to be cautious because we are positive and it is not the same fixing up a hiv positive persons face and a negative persons face. Be smart and do not hold back any questions you might have. Good luck.
