Had oral exposure with a CSW at Singapore (Cunnilingus)
« on: April 22, 2017, 06:30:54 am »
I had performed cunnilingus on a CSW with unknown HIV status (i didn't ask her) at Singapore 2 and half months ago. She gave me protected oral sex and had short protected intercourse. Is unlikely that i have any sore in mouth or throat, because i didn't feel any pain in my mouth or throat before i went to meet the SW. After finish, i wash my mouth with water and keep on spitting saliva and feeling regret to have this exposure. At the next day after exposure, i got sore throat and it has no pain and recovered in two to three days. After that i have no any symptoms until 1 month after exposure, I got cold and recovered in 4 days. In now is about 2 and half months after exposure, i sometimes will feel my right armpit got slightly pain and now i got dandruff. Is these symptoms means anything to HIV or STD?The only thing that makes me worry is the cunnilingus i performed on her. Does this become a risk for HIV? I know oral sex was carries low risk. But low risk doesn't mean no risk. Will i be the unlucky one? The sore throat is any symptom of HIV or STD? Do i need a test for HIV or any STD? Please do help me. i has been worrying since after my exposure. Sorry for my poor English.

Hi

We don't discuss symptom here, however nothing you mentioned was HIV specific and HIV certainly does not give you dandruff ... If you are sick for whatever reason speak to your doctor and treat it.

Look nothing you mentioned was an exposure to HIV.

Giving a BJ carriers a near negligible risk as other conditions are needed, however in terms of BJ's there hasn’t been a single documented case of HIV transmission to an insertive partner (the person being "sucked") and you will not be the world first. Getting your penis sucked is simply not a HIV risk, saliva is not HIV infectious, it also contains over a dozen elements that neutralize HIV.

Transmission of HIV via cunnilingus, see the fluid a woman produces when sexually excited comes from the Bartholin's glands, this is a lubricating fluid and does not have any more hiv present than other bodily secretions such as saliva, sweat or tears. Saliva, sweat and tears are not HIV infectious fluids.

Here's what you need to know in order to avoid hiv infection:
Use condoms for anal or vaginal intercourse, correctly and consistently, every time, no exceptions.

Keep in mind that some sexual practices which may be described as ‘safe’ in terms of HIV transmission might still pose a risk for transmission of other easier to transmit STI's, so please do get fully tested regularly and at least yearly for all STI's including but not limited to HIV and test more frequently if unprotected intercourse occurs

Also note that it is possible to have an STI and show no signs or symptoms and the only way of knowing is by testing.

More information on HIV Basics, PEP, TaSP and Transmission can be found through the links in my signature to our POZ pages, this includes information on HIV Testing

Kind regards

Jim

Hi thanks for your reply, recently i found some other websites was mentioned that there are no risk of hiv when giving women oral sex. This really give me a big relief. Just thinking to have a test to make sure my hiv status and i have bought a rapid blood test. But after that, i started getting stress again and a lot of "What if" comes to my mind. What if the result was positive. What if i really infected hiv from cunnilingus or maybe protected short intercourse? (cdc website was mentioned the condom is not 100% protection for hiv? that still possible for hiv virus pass through the condom? Correct me if i was wrong. Because i really scared and regret for this incident.) I will get the rapid blood test two more days later. Today is the 12 week and 1 day after my exposure, i believe that the result will be conclusive? Is that possible for my result come out positive? To mention that this is my first and only exposure.

Hi

As said you had no risk.

No what if about it, test as you should at least yearly, also test for other easier to transmit STI's.

You had no exposure if what you posted was true from this incident.

the condom is not 100% protection for hiv?

Look HIV can not transmit through an intact latex condom. Its not small enough to get passed this barrier - End of story.
But as condoms can break and people use them incorrectly and inconstantly it's not 100% of the time, the main reason they break is people use them incorrectly this increasing the risk of condom breakage occurring. Good news is condoms leave no doubt when they do break as they shred.

Other STI's are far more infectious and attach/infect or use different cells in the human body and use different transmission routes then HIV so condoms greatly reduce exposure to them but its not perfect. Take herpes as an example this can infect from skin to skin contact during a process called viral shredding from area not covered by the condom. Thankfully for the world HIV simply does not work or infect that way.

In short if you catch HIV it was not from this incident as described here- stop stressing.
