Welcome to Do I Have HIV?

Welcome to the "Do I Have HIV?" POZ forum.

This special section of the POZ forum is for individuals who have concerns about whether or not they are HIV positive. Individuals are permitted to post up to three questions or responses in this forum.

Ongoing participation in the "Do I Have HIV?" forum (posting more than three questions or responses) requires a paid subscription, with secure payments made via PayPal.

A seven-day subscription is $9.99, a 30-day subscription is $14.99 and a 90-day subscription is $24.99.

Anyone who needs to post more than three messages in the "Do I Have HIV?" forum -- including past, present and future POZ Forums members -- will need to subscribe, with secure payments made via PayPal.

There is no charge to read threads in the "Do I Have HIV?" forum, nor will there be a charge for participating in any of the other POZ forums. In addition, the POZ Basics "HIV Transmission and Risks" and "HIV Testing" basics, will remain accessible to all.

Just a quick question....After initial infection do symptoms keep lingering on and on.....Like lymph nodes and muscle aches....

Symptoms, if they happen at all, happen sometime between two and four weeks after infection has taken place. They happen all at once and stop all at once. They don't come and go and they don't linger on. This is how so many people can be infected and not know until years later when they start getting very ill. Many people also never have one single symptom either at seroconversion or for years after.

Only testing will reliably reveal your true hiv status. Your test revealed that you are hiv negative. Protect your status by using condoms for intercourse, ever time, no exceptions.

thank you very much Ann....So my first symptom was the famous white tongue....Then about 5 days latter I started developing all the other symptoms....That leads me to think it was not ARS if they come all at once, does this sound like a correct assumption...

Howdy,

You are conclusively hiv negative. How on earth could anything you're experiencing have anything to do with ARS? See your doctor about your concerns. You do not have hiv and there is nothing more we can do for you here.

I am sorry Ann... I was just curious does that sound correct, that the horribly white tongue comming on a few days before all my other symptoms would rule out ARS....

Your negative test rules out ARS. There's no point in talking about symptoms (or the lack of symptoms) anyway because they mean nothing.

Just an FYI,  I received a negative test at 6 months... My Dr. has now told me to move on... Take care and thanks for your help....
