Wow...great initiative

https://www.theguardian.com/world/2019/nov/27/new-zealand-launches-worlds-first-hiv-positive-sperm-bank

"As well as informing the public, the online clinic aims to give people diagnosed with the virus the opportunity to create life and to raise awareness that fertility services are available for them.

Sperm Positive said it will not be operating as a fertility clinic and, if a match is agreed by both parties, it will put them in touch with local fertility clinics."

what an odd notion. is there a shortage of everyday sperm banks? It seems like singling out HIV+/UD sperm would only encourage discrimination. In reality how many couples seeking sperm donations are going to go to an agency which such a small selection of stock, much less one that doesn't do all the other fertility clinic options? Will the other fertility clinics accept using samples from this agency? Will this agency ever have much of a stock to select from? economically is there even a demand for HIV+/UD sperm?
