Freak accident sends Hasselhoff to surgery

David Hasselhoff hit his head on a chandelier, showered himself with broken glass and severed a tendon.

LONDON, England (AP) -- Former "Baywatch" star David Hasselhoff had surgery after severing a tendon in his right arm in an accident in a London gym bathroom, his spokeswoman said Friday.

The 53-year-old actor, who played lifeguard Mitch Buchannon on the TV beach drama for 11 years, was shaving at a gym in the Sanderson Hotel on Thursday when he hit his head on a chandelier, showering his arm with broken glass, his publicist, Judy Katz, said.

Doctors operated to repair the injury and Hasselhoff spent one night at St. Thomas' Hospital in central London, Katz said.

"He's fine," Katz said by phone from New York. "He's out of the hospital and will resume filming tomorrow."

Hasselhoff is working on an ad campaign for Pipex, a British internet company, she said.
Questions...

1.  Who shaves in a hotel gym bathroom?
2.  Who puts a chandelier in a gym bathroom?
3.  Who puts a chandelier in a gym bathroom so low that patrons can hit their head on it?
4.  Who would dare to shave in a gym bathroom, at a hotel, where there is a low-hanging chandelier?
5.  Who would dare hire David Hasselhoff for anything other than soft-porn?

I htink he is still hot.

I also think he was robbed since he never won an Emmy award for his convincing performance as a lifeguard.

Gosh, you all are so suspicious!

He was sitting in a lifeguard's whatever that was too high for the room. And he was just trying to adjust the chandelier while shaving. And singing a song from JEKYLL AND HYDE. And tap dancing.

You know. Like anyone might be doing.  While shaving.

Jeff,

You will be happy to note that The Hoff is doing fine.  Here is a photo of him recuperating in the hospital.

And in other news, The Hoff has apparently written his own musical that he plans to star in soon.  And did you know that The Hoff topped a list of the most popular stars on the internet amongst young people (16-24).  Apparently Bay Watch was popular with the 9-15 age group and Nightrider was a big hit with the fetuses demographics...which would explain how he's such a big hit with today's 16-24 age group.

When asked by CNN's Soledad O'brien whether he has ever broken his wife's nose, The Hoff had this to say...

Does the Hoff practice plastic surgery on the side?  ::)

Im glad The Hoff will pull through.  I wouldnt want a promising career to be cut short by a freak accident.  He should win a lifetime achievement award.
