Title: oral sex
Post by: delanoagius on June 12, 2014, 09:29:03 am
i had a risk 3 months ago. as i received a blowjob. i know that saliva is no a risk but i am totally freaking out because i am afraid that maybe there was some blood i didn't notice and what freaking me out the most is that there are a lot of sites that state that oral sex is a low risk and some even say a documented risk.i searched so many site  and there are ppl who say that they got it from oral sex.

i don't get if oral sex is really not a risk then why is there so many site that state its a low risk ?

i have no symptoms at all. but i read it might take 10 years for symptoms to appear after getting aids.

i have also asked a doctor in hospital and told me there is no need to test.

so please help me. i am totally freaking out. ( sorry for my English and please be kind i really don't need someone yelling at me right now:/)

Del,

Are you in the habit of repeatedly punching a person in the mouth before they blow you? That's the only way there would be enough blood present to cause the least hiv concern.

Not one person has ever been infected through getting a blowjob and you aren't going to be the first.

If you want to know why some sites say the things they do, I suggest you contact them and ask. I haven't a clue why some sites are so out-of-touch with reality.

Here's what you need to know in order to avoid hiv infection:

You need to be using condoms for anal or vaginal intercourse, every time, no exceptions until such time as you are in a securely monogamous relationship where you have both tested for ALL sexually transmitted infections together.

To agree to have unprotected intercourse is to consent to the possibility of being infected with an STI. Sex without a condom lasts only a matter of minutes, but hiv is forever.

Have a look through the condom and lube links in my signature line so you can use condoms with confidence.

ALTHOUGH YOU DO NOT NEED TO TEST FOR HIV OVER A BLOWJOB, anyone who is sexually active should be having a full sexual health care check-up, including but not limited to hiv testing, at least once a year and more often if unprotected intercourse occurs.

If you aren't already having regular, routine check-ups, now is the time to start. As long as you make sure condoms are being used for intercourse, you can fully expect your routine hiv tests to return with negative results.

Don't forget to always get checked for all the other sexually transmitted infections as well, because they are MUCH easier to transmit than hiv. Some of the other STIs can be present with no obvious symptoms, so the only way to know for sure is to test.

Use condoms for anal or vaginal intercourse, correctly and consistently, and you will avoid hiv infection. It really is that simple!

ann. i have another question . i was reading and jeff g said that there are document cases about someone getting hiv from oral sex. so if there are cases doesn't it mean that you can get hiv from oral sex

his quote
"There have only been a couple of documented cases of oral HIV and most had other risk factors involved . "

The scant few cases I referenced was from giving blow jobs to a man with a high HIV viral load while you suffer large open wounds in your mouth .... and that is so rare its only been documented a few times in 30 years .

As Ann already advised ... Not one person has ever been infected through getting a blowjob and you aren't going to be the first.
