70 degree pool water, swimming, anti-inflamation, post your experience

I am still not on meds, only infected 24 months ago, never been on meds, so i am in that awkward phase when i am trying to keep feeling good, keep numbers up

i notice that if i swim every morning for 45 or 55 min. in normal 70 degree pool water, swimming, i feel great all day and sometimes get a big tired toward night, this may be becuase of the

cold and constriction of the cold against the body and squeezing of blood, it may be because of the oxygenation of the blood, the super oxegenation of the blood, it may be the exercise and heart rate itself

we know body is 98.6F that is hot, very hot really and the pool or normal air is cool, but at 72F the pool water is very cold and like an ice pack almost for all parts of the body

we know that the hiv causes a terrible inflamation process to happen in the gut and blood and the body, also we know that cold compresses help with inflamation

i notice if i do not swim in morning then often i feel tired and run down and not good very early in afternoon

but if i swim i can go all day and into night with feeling normal almost like i dont have hiv

if i miss one or two days or more

then i feel worse right away

seems to work same if i do treadmill at gym in morning for 45 min or so

anyone else have experiences like this with

swimming, exercise, running, cold water, etc    ... i have always found cold and hot water to be one of the best tonics for the body

and there is this science thing called heat shock protein that does all these important things...

bim,

I think your body's response has more to do with the exercise itself than the temperature of the water you swim in. This is why you get the same result if you go to the gym. Regular exercise is well known to result in more energy and is often recommended as an antidote to fatigue.

HIV is certainly character-building. It's made me see all of the shallow things we cling to, like ego and vanity. Of course, I'd rather have a few more T-cells and a little less character. Randy Shilts

yo,

I haven't had a chance to swim for a while (the pacific ocean is brrrrrrrr) and I usually go to the gym feeling like shit, not wanting to go, but once I get there and start the elliptical or the treadmill, bham wham zham the energy kicks in, the body warms up, i wake up, sweat, feel better and better, then exercise, push, pull, drink a lot of water, and finally come back home for a soothing medium cold/warm shower and i'm ready for the day, happy and feeling great.

I think the "cold" 72 degree pool also gives you the body shock that makes it wake up, like the morning shower helps you wake up too.

And I sleep a lot better if I exercise during the day. The body will need a good deep rest, instead of fighting with fatigue.

i agree that exercise fights the fatigue of hiv very very well

maybe hopefully it even slows by a few months the eventual need to start meds

but there is very specific bio chem things that happen in exercise that influence the immune system

i have a paper on it gotta look again
