Welcome to Do I Have HIV?

Welcome to the "Do I Have HIV?" POZ forum.

This special section of the POZ forum is for individuals who have concerns about whether or not they are HIV positive. Individuals are permitted to post up to three questions or responses in this forum.

Ongoing participation in the "Do I Have HIV?" forum (posting more than three questions or responses) requires a paid subscription, with secure payments made via PayPal.

A seven-day subscription is $9.99, a 30-day subscription is $14.99 and a 90-day subscription is $24.99.

Anyone who needs to post more than three messages in the "Do I Have HIV?" forum -- including past, present and future POZ Forums members -- will need to subscribe, with secure payments made via PayPal.

Hey guys, first of all I was just want to thank you for being so nice with all the freaks like me that come to this forum.
Let me tell you my story

I was the receptive partner at two unprotected anal sex without ejaculation. The first one happened in early September and the other one, with a different guy (how stupid I am) in early October. I've got tested 5 weeks after the first event and the result came out negative. Now I'm going to be tested again 9 weeks after the first one and 4 weeks after the second one.
I know I am at risk so I won't question about that, however the studies about HIV in pre-ejaculatory fluis are not very conclusive. (If anyone has a good study about it, please send me. I'm very interested on reading it)
My questions are: If the result comes out positive, Was I infected at the first event or at the second one? If it comes out negative, can I stop to freak out?

The average time to seroconversion is 22 days. Most who are infected will test positive by 6 weeks. For various reasons a small number will take longer and that is why we follow the CDC recommendation to test at 3 months for a conclusive negative result.

You can test again at 3 months from your last exposure for a conclusive result .

So, a test after 5 weeks is a good indicator of a negative result? I'll test again after three months anyway.

The testing window period is 6 weeks and again at 3 months but I would not bother to test again until 3 months . A 5 week negative results is a good indication you and should expect a negative HIV test at 90 days .
