Title: Awaiting the results of the 6 week test
Post by: structuredjen on September 17, 2007, 10:30:04 am: Well - I went for my 6 week test last Friday (blood). Should have the results this Friday.

It's strange, I'm not a wreck about it. Maybe it's because we've been through so much in the last two months that I'm just calmer now? I'm not sure.

It should prove interesting- My gynecologist has always called me with my annual "negative" result. If he tells me to come in, I suppose I know whats up? :-\

Post by: ALH300 on September 18, 2007, 02:52:47 pm: What state are you in?? I am in Iowa and the system here is pretty shitty, they do an oral swab, they claim they can do the confirmatory(western blot) with saliva. So maybe unprotected oral sex isn't that safe at all...

The ability to discern HIV antibodies and viral particles in saliva is not at all indicative of infectious properties in saliva. You can find viral particles in sweat and tears as well. I urge you to read our extensive and very well researched LESSONS forums.
