cunnilingus and sores

hello,

in march I had an encounter with a sex worker. we used protection but I performed cunnilingus on her. The following day while eating I realised that I had canker sores in my mouth. so I had them while performing cunnilingus on a sex worker of unknown status. I have made some research and people say that canker sores are not a risk. But most people have one or two. I HAD 4 CANKER SORES when i went down on her for about 5 minutes. 2 on the bottom lip and two on my right cheek.

I'm worried that my poor oral health could give entry to the virus and i am very worried. how much of a risk was that and do i need testing?

It's not an HIV concern.

Unless you have had other sexual encounters you wish to discuss, move on with your life.

Here's what you need to know in order to avoid hiv infection:
Use condoms for anal or vaginal intercourse, correctly and consistently, every time, no exceptions. Consider starting PrEP as an additional layer of HIV protection going forward

Keep in mind that some sexual practices which may be described as ‘safe’ in terms of HIV transmission might still pose a risk for transmission of other STI's, so please do get fully tested regularly and at least yearly for all STI's including but not limited to HIV and test more frequently if unprotected intercourse occurs

Also note that it is possible to have an STI and show no signs or symptoms and the only way of knowing is by testing.

hi,
 i had a haircut at a barber shop today 2 hours ago. And I also cut my beard wich I d'ont usually do at a barber shop.  I got cut in the face, And I bled. What got me concerned is that the barber used a straight blade that can close. I did not see him change anything. Assuming the customer before me also got cut and was hiv positive, the blood on the razor wouldnt be exposed to the air for long, what are the chances I get infected? he did not use any liquid.

I'm asking because i can still do pep. Do I need to do it?

I appreciate your answer. but I have one last clarification before i move on from this incident. he did not use shaving cream or any other substance, and I know that he did not change the blade or sanitize it. Does that make a difference?

Hi

It makes no difference, this concern lacks a number of conditions required, one of them being that HIV does not remain infectious outside the human body (such as on surfaces), and it cannot reproduce outside a human host. Once hiv finds itself exposed outside the body to air, small changes in temperature, pH / moisture levels all quickly damage the receptors and render it unable to infect.

Hello, i have initially moved on from the cunnilingus episode but i'm in a relationship now and i have been thinking about one detail that i did not mention on my previous post. I tend to press on my canker sores with my tongue and i dont know if that makes them deeper. if it does, is there a chance i may have been infected? I know a test would be the best thing to do but with the coronavirus out there i dont want to go to a hospital right now. Also have there been cases of hiv from cunnilingus? if yes, how bad were their mouth sores?

Makes no difference whatsoever, you had no risk from the concerned event posted here. It simply lacks exposure and I've explained you had no risk before so please don't ask again.

Congrats on the relationship, just make sure to use condoms no exceptions and to test at least yearly out of standard routine for HIV and STI's.
