In Short:

We are a group of researchers and people with lived experience from the United States, United Kingdom, Canada and South Africa. We study, treat and live with chronic pain and HIV, and are passionately committed to finding the safe and effective treatments we desperately need.

In the summer of 2019 we came together to brainstorm and strategize, focusing on establishing research priorities in this area. We came up with many ideas and developed a list of the research goals we thought were most important. But it’s not really about what we think.

We need the input of a diverse group of individuals with lived experience of HIV and chronic pain to tell us what’s important to them. Are the research goals we established good ones? Are there other important areas that we missed?

We also want to know about you. There is surprisingly little information out there about what it’s like to live with HIV and chronic pain. How are you managing, what helps and what doesn’t? If we don’t know the answers to these basic questions how do we even get started?
