oral sex risk,please help
« on: April 02, 2011, 04:00:27 pm »
hi all, I am 25 years old heterosexual man married with 2 children.
I want to share my story and to know your opinion, in February 5 of this year a lady from 35 to 45  gave to me a blowjob for 3 minutes maximum.
followed by a handjob, did not give much attention at all and knew
insertive oral sex is not risk of HIV, then decided to follow
quiet and start looking for info on the web and I find the forum
MedHelp and read the opinion of Dr. Jose Garcia, where he says that
insertive oral sex is not risk of HIV, also the Red Cross website handled the same opinon, I
calm down a lot but decided to call the HIV helpline and they tell me
same thing, zero risk, but I'm steel looking in the web and i find the CDC page and the
forum THE BODY and see if there is a minimal risk, I entered
panic but decided to calm down, until the third week of my exposure
I start discomfort in the neck and armpit, the pain is recuerente
but very desperate each passing day became more and more annoying
fatigue pain etc, then I decide to get test at 5 weeks and 2
days of my exposure,2 weeks later back for my results which is negative,
the bad thing is that I had unprotected sex with my wife and now she
has the same symptoms, pain in neck, arms, fatigue, and all this is make me
crazy, there are times I think I'm infected and infecting my wife, I'm even thinking about suicide
if I'm positive.I need HELP please I'm desperate, sorry for my english

Rino, you need to stop searching on the web. All it will do is feed your worst fears and all to no good purpose.

Now listen to me carefully: getting a blowjob is one of the most common of sexual practicies. In the entire history of the epidemic there has never been even a single confirmed case of transmission through a guy getting one. It's safe to say you are not going to make history by becoming the first.

The only confirmed risks for the sexual transmission of HIV are unprotected vaginal and anal intercourse. That's it.

So you are worrying needlessly and there is no need for further concern on your part about HIV. As for your symptoms, there could be any number of causes, not the least of which is stress. If your symptoms or those of your wife continue you should see your doctor(s). Whatever is going on has nothing to do with HIV.

Like many other straying husbands I am betting you are loaded with guilt, which is the real issue driving this situation. You did what you did. It's done. You were not at risk. Give it up and get on with your life. HIV is not your problem no matter what your head is saying otherwise. And stay off of the net! Really.

thanks for the quick reply, I have one more question, do you think my test is
reliable at this moment or you thing I need  another test at 12 0 13 weeks.
some places say 6 weeks is conclusive and another 8 weeks and there are some places that talk about 6 months
all this is confusing.

There is no need for testing because you didn't have risk to begin with. No risk means no testing is necessary.

So you can test whenever you want to because it is strictly for your peace of mind. If there had been a real risk like unprotected intercourse  then a negative at 6 weeks is very encouraging but it is 13 weeks that is conclusive.

You need to decide what will give you the peace of mind you want. I'll say again, you don't need to test. Getting a blowjob is absolutely not a risk for HIV transmission no matter what details you throw into the story.

Now it's your move.

You're welcome. I see no reason to expect other than a negative test result.

Best to you.

Hello again Andy and guys,I'm sorry but i have a new question to ask about my wife,we're a little scared.

Yesterday night when we left the church we found a guy,he was vomiting blood clots, and he was choking, my wife saw hem and decided to help hem, the problem is that she introduced a finger in the guy bleeding mouth, now we're a little scared, do you think my wife should go the hospital to start PEP? assuming that the guy was positive.

I forgot to say, my wife had no open wounds on her finger.

Sorry for the new question, but I'm going crazy every time I think about HIV

rinagalo,

Your wife certainly does NOT need PEP. She had no risk. Intact skin is a very effective barrier against hiv infection.

i'm in the week 10 after the blowjob.

my question is if i'm positive for hep B increases my risk of HIV, my doctor says virtually no
