pregnant!
« on: June 10, 2010, 07:45:41 am »
hello, its been a while for me here. this was my old post / story:
http://forums.poz.com/index.php?topic=22288.msg306524#msg306524
me being the female negative part of a magnetic relationship.

this time i have to tell something great: i am pregnant by my pos. boyfriend! conceived naturally and i am negative (2 neg antibody tests so far into the pregnancy). we followed the swiss statement, discussed this with some doctors, i took truvada as prep during our try. my boyfriend has been on atripla for 8 or 9 months before we tried. we had a lot of things checked, also his viral load in sperm, which was at 0. and we hit it with the first timed try even though we were told it might get difficult since the sperm motility wasn't that great, according to the doc due to the meds. even more crazy: it'll be twins! feels like a jackpot right now, even though it wont be always easy with two in the same time. i think this whole thing really starts putting our situation as magnetic couple in perspective and thats also something id like to tell here. the 2 doctors (my boyfriends doc and one from a fertility clinic) were both not concerned at all of us trying the old fashioned way. but we followed closely all those steps, at least 6 months vl undetectable, no other STDs, timed intercourse at lh-peak, prep for me…
i was really scared before though, it took me a while to get to the point where i was willing to "risk" this. strangely, as we had started this fear was gone and it didn't feel like that major risk anymore, and i started to trust all those cases without transmission.

Congratulations! That is such wonderful and amazing news. I am also a female negative (so far, I have to have my 3 month test at the end of June) and my boyfriend is positive. We just found out on April 29 that hes positive., so its nice to see another couple like us. I hope you have a healthy happy pregnancy...I have 5 children, so I know its a very magical time of your life! And, my boyfriend has 10 year old twins, so I know how special that can be too!

Hopefully you'll have late-November Scorpios. Scorpios rock! (but I may be biased). ;D

Hope everything continues to go smoothly. Don't forget to keep us posted.

hi! thanks and yes there is hope for sure !!! (as well for them becoming scorpions!  :) ) living in developed countries with a good medical system and support obviously makes those (our)  situations so much easier. but we took really every precaution we could, like checking viral load in sperm, which might not be available everywhere and maybe wasnt that necessary either.

so far things are very good..

Wow jackpot indeed!
Hey if you care to share, I never heard that HIV in sperm can be "0" - is the really the figure they gave? Amazing these drugs.

no, the doc didnt say 0, he just said it was non existent. which might have been just simply undetectable. but "non existent" sounded like 0 to me :)

So, are they Scorpios or Sagittarians?

Yes, that is good that you managed to carry them for so long. Nearly full-term, right? They're off to a very auspicious start. Enjoy them while they're little, they'll be hormone-charged adolescents before you know it! :D
