I need expert advice please

I wanted to share my experience hoping that someone will assure me that I did not expose myself to hiv. I have gone to a massage place where I had gotten a blow job. The masseuse had done it and I had condom on. It was protected but what scares me is that when she opened it she had it in her mouth before pitting it on me.

Now after I read some of your answer to similar incident I am at no risk to contract hiv through this episode however my main concern is that after 4 days of exposure I had developed folliculitis on my upper shoulder.

I had waxed my shoulder for first time a week ago did this rash occur because of waxing was it a coincidence or it is a symptom of hiv.

Also I went to doctor and showed him the rash he said it is from waving prescribed me antibiotic. I have been on it for two days but no sign of improvement.

What drive my anxiety higher is that I read somewhere that follicitulos or hair infection is common for those with hiv.

Please someone address my question and put my mind at ease.


And if it is really was from waxing. Why it took one week for rash to show up and how long it takes to heal while on antibiotic.

You didn't have a risk for HIV . There are dozens of proteins in saliva that render HIV unable to infect so there was no risk from the condom being in her mouth .
If you are feeling unwell or having skin issues go see your doctor bcause HIV isn't the cause of your symptoms and are not specific to HIV , so we don't discuss symptoms .

 ALTHOUGH YOU DO NOT NEED HIV TESTING AT THIS TIME, anyone who is sexually active should be having a full sexual health care checkup, including but not limited to HIV testing, at least once a year and more often if unprotected intercourse occurs.

If you aren't already having regular, routine checkups, now is the time to start. As long as you make sure condoms are being used for intercourse, you can fully expect your routine HIV tests to return with negative results.

Don't forget to always get checked for all the other sexually transmitted infections as well, because they are MUCH easier to transmit than HIV. Some of the other STIs can be present with no obvious symptoms, so the only way to know for sure is to test.

Use condoms for anal or vaginal intercourse, correctly and consistently, and you will avoid HIV infection. It really is that simple!

I am just curious if the rash was caused from hiv that means of I get tested tomorrow I would be positive. Is that correct.

You don't need to test for the incident you described , no way you could have been exposed in the manner you are concerned with ... zero risk .

If you wish to test for HIV you would need to wait 6 weeks past the time of a possible exposure and then test again at 3 months to confirm your results .

HIV is acquired through unprotected vaginal or anal sex , if you are using condoms consistently and correctly you will avoid exposure to HIV .

I cant comment about a rash or discuss symptoms , like I said see your doctor if you are unwell .

Just to reiterate to what Jeff G said - you had absolutely no risk.

Wear a condom for vaginal and anal sex and avoid HIV. It's really that simple.

Last question

How come my doctor insisted that even if I get a blow job I need to be protected. Why would he say that when everyone on this forum state that there are no risk in catching hiv.

Please I m not doubting your knowledge.

I cant say for certain what your doctors are thinking but the truth is many people , including people in the health care industry still use outdated , very conservative data to form their opinions .
