Oh Yes...Big time ABBA fan here in Alabama...and don't remind me.  I feel older than dirt now.
I read last year where they were offered a huge amount of money to Tour Again and they flatly
refused.  Damnit! :'(

I LOVE ABBA

I LOVE ABBA as well, ever since I was a little kid. Listening to their songs, 90% of the time, always puts me in a good/better mood, even the sad ones like "The Winner Takes It All." I spose ABBA is already considered quaint or retro?

Her full nature, like that river of which Cyrus broke the strength, spent itself in channels which had no great name on the earth. But the effect of her being on those around her was incalculably diffusive: for the growing good of the world is partly dependent on unhistoric acts; and that things are not so ill with you and me as they might have been, is half owing to the number who lived faithfully a hidden life, and rest in unvisited tombs.

I have always loved ABBA.    I thought Mamma Mia was the cutest, most clever musical I had seen in ages, they way they worked all the ABBA songs into the story line....

For my cell phone "ring", I have ABBA's "Dancing Queen"......so I definitely know when my phone is ringing!

I LOVE ABBA!!!

My only regret is I never got to see them and chances seem pretty slim they'll ever tour again since they've refused.

I wanted to see Mamma Mia when it was here but missed it.  Hopefully it'll come back around again or I'll have to travel elsewhere to see it.

I hope you get to see it Phil, it is FANTASTIC.   One of those shows where the whole audience is on their feet, clapping and cheering and dancing.....

Alan

PS - I love the song "Fernando", but no one else seems to care for it much....

Um, are the people on this thread gay men?  :)

Oh no, I love "Fernando" too! But I have too many favorites to single one out.

I hope everyone's seen Muriel's Wedding, a terrific Aussie movie with a great use of ABBA.

Alan, Fernando is my favorite ABBA song.  Has been since I was little and listened to it on my mom's 8-track with the HUGE headphones on.  ROFL  (now there's an image we could all forget)  :D

I was so bummed when they refused to re-group and tour.  I would mortgage my house to see them live!!!

I love Fernando.  I think it is probably one of their best songs.  I don't have a particular favorite because I like just about all of them but one I used to play a lot was 'Like An Angel Passing Through My Room'.  It's a great lullabye and I used to listen to it a lot before going to bed at night.

Sad, I know. :P

At the risk of being chased by an angry pitchfork-wielding mob, WOW, music videos have changed A LOT.

I couldn't help but laugh while watching it.

Now keep in mind, Molten, dear, that this video was made in '74 or '75--a good 6-7 years before the birth of MTV.  Music videos weren't exactly the order-of-the-day back then.

Now where the hell did I leave my pitchfork...
