sleep walking
« on: November 22, 2017, 04:51:54 pm »
i have been having problems with sleep walking, it happens at least once a month and I have no memory of it. I wouldn't even know I did it if I lived alone except for things being placed in weird spots. so it happened again last night and I just realized I never (except once when I was a kid) would sleep walk before I took hiv meds so im wondering if anyone else started sleep walking after starting meds?

I can't answer your question in an instructive way, since I have not had the experience you have, but I can give you some perspective.

Firstly, please take care of yourself.  Sleepwalking is a serious matter and can cause serious injury (through falls, etc.).

Do you take Ambien for sleep?  Sleepwalking can happen with other medications, unrelated to HIV medications.

Are you sure your HIV meds are the cause?  Please check with your medical provider as soon as practicable to discuss your situation.

the only meds I take is genvoya. I am not sure its the medication causing it but just realized it started around the same time so I was curious if anyone else experienced it. but I am worried about falling down the stairs or turning on the stove and burning down the house or something. last night I took out my dentures and put them in the back of the toilet where the water refills and had no idea I did that but the toilet was running so I opened up the back and my dentures were about to fall in the hole back there. luckly the toilet was running or I would have never found them and that's a 2000 dollar mistake if they are lost

I used to occasionally sleepwalk when younger. Really weird stuff too - once my grandmother (who lived with us) woke to see me stood on a chair in her room taking her lightbulb out! I once sleep-drove too, which was terrifying for my passengers - once they realised. Had basically stopped on the way back from a night out and as we relaxed for a bit (we were all avoiding having to drive back to parents) I fell asleep and only woke when I had pulled up at my house. I remember nothing but my friends said I was driving 'weirdly slowly'.

Sorry, nothing connected with HIV meds there - just the subject brought those things to mind :)

I used to sleepwalk when I was younger as well.

Always had vivid dreams.

Years ago my Long Term Partner told me that I would sing in my sleep and recite poems.  He got a kick out of it.

I still have vivid dreams as I recounted here on the Boards (Sustiva Cinema).

The other night I woke up and heard myself singing Country Soul Opera.

By the way, I am considered quite brilliant during regular waking hours.

 :) ;) :D ;D

Best to All,
