Hello Ann and Andy,

i am almost dead, i have several symptoms after a sexual encounter.

4 weeks back i had a sexual intercourse with a sex worker, i used condom, and it didn't break as of my knowledge, but there was a sore in my inner cheek and i kissed her lips 2 or 3 times.

on the next day onwards, i have fever, comes and goes. and fatigue.
now around 27 th day i had a dry skin around my nose and mouth also forehead, i used a wet tissue and wiped it hardly, now it become red patch which sores very much. i have also swollen lymph nodes on armpit.
and i noticed some follicle bumps on my leg. and diarrhea.

now its 29th day and still have fever on every evening, and i believe i am having hiv. i am afraid to get tested, because i am almost sure i have hiv seeing all these symptoms.

what to do now? please give me some advice...

again many many thanks.... (sorry for poor english)

Crazy,

No, you're NOT going to be hiv positive over an incident of PROTECTED intercourse.

Condoms have been proven to prevent hiv infection. There have been three long-term studies of couples where one is positive and one is negative. In the couples who used condoms for anal or vaginal intercourse, but no barrier for oral activities, not one of the negative partners became infected with hiv. Not one.

Kissing is also not a risk for hiv infection, not even with a sore on your inner cheek. Not only is saliva not infectious, but it also contains over a dozen different proteins and enzymes that damage hiv and render it unable to infect.

If you feel unwell, see a doctor. whatever is going on has NOTHING to do with hiv as you did NOT have a risk for hiv infection.

that was my first time sex experience, she used some kind of lubricant. is there any risk in that?
dry flaky skin on my face and rash from that is making me tensed.

Thanks Ann for your valuable reply. now i fell a lil bit relaxed. Actually i need some words like this before going to a test.
I am afraid that so many people here just ask and leave, no body mentions about the result if they have even a little risk. So i decided to get tested and give a reply. because these symptoms are eating me out.

anyway i don't want a warning message from you... so i will test and give reply

Crazy,

You're SUPPOSED to use lube with condoms.

Here's what you need to know in order to avoid hiv infection:

You need to be using condoms for anal or vaginal intercourse, every time, no exceptions until such time as you are in a securely monogamous relationship where you have both tested for ALL sexually transmitted infections together.

To agree to have unprotected intercourse is to consent to the possibility of being infected with an STI. Sex without a condom lasts only a matter of minutes, but hiv is forever.

Have a look through the condom and lube links in my signature line so you can use condoms with confidence.

ALTHOUGH YOU DO NOT NEED TO TEST OVER PROTECTED INTERCOURSE OR KISSING, anyone who is sexually active should be having a full sexual health care check-up, including but not limited to hiv testing, at least once a year and more often if unprotected intercourse occurs.

If you aren't already having regular, routine check-ups, now is the time to start. As long as you make sure condoms are being used for intercourse, you can fully expect your routine hiv tests to return with negative results.

Don't forget to always get checked for all the other sexually transmitted infections as well, because they are MUCH easier to transmit than hiv.

Use condoms for anal or vaginal intercourse, correctly and consistently, and you will avoid hiv infection. It really is that simple!

Crazy,

NO. You did NOT have a risk.

You do NOT need to test.

I included all the information I did so you know what to do in future to protect your hiv negative status.

crazy,

No big surprise there, but it's good that you now accurately know your hiv status.

Use condoms for anal or vaginal intercourse, correctly and consistently, and you will avoid hiv infection. It really is that simple!!!
