Condom broke - got gonorrhea/chlamydia - wooried about HIV
« on: August 05, 2007, 08:02:39 pm »
Hi  members,

I'm hoping someone could help me with some details here.

I had a sex with sex worker and condom broke. I did not cum but not sure about her orgasm or any fluid. She was very calm. She just asked me whether I cum and said not to worry. After about 10-12 days had gonorrhea/chlamydia and went to local state clinic on 15th day and got zirthomax shot and rochepin liquid dose. Now I'm worried about HIV as I know that she was a bi. If she is hiv positive, what are the chances of me getting it. Is it 100%? As I got gonorrhea/chlamydia will that make getting HIV infection easier.
I'm awaiting HIV test result (15 days after the incident) but as I understand now that sometimes it takes months for test to detect HIV.

I'm hoping that Ann and other fellows will shed some lights.

Thank you.

Before you post anymore questions. Read the lessons on transmission. You'll find the link in the "Welcome" thread.

If the condom broke and you tested positive for the other STDs, then you were at risk for HIV. A test 13 weeks from your encounter will be definitive.

Bear in mind that HIV is very fragile and difficult to pass from women to men, unlike the bacterial STDs you've got right now. Chances are still pretty good that you'll pass this negative.

I won't respond to anything you've said about the woman. keep in mind that specific acts are risky, not people. HIV does not discriminate.

Good luck-
