Hi

The concern here is more related to other infections not really HIV. HIV is fragile and without backwash from a syringe not a concern. I say with note that I have not seen what you are talking about I can only go but your description of the needle.

Now I don't want to stress you but other infections that are easier to transmit can be equally if not more serious than HIV (Hepatitis as example) and hence my advice also considering the age of your son is that both of you go to an emergency room (ER / A&E) so they can check the both of you out and the needle to correctly assist your son.

The sooner the better as if it is decided that any preventive measures are needed the sooner they can start the better.

Asked and answered.

What you posted did not describe a HIV risk. HIV is fragile and would not be infectious on a the tip of a needle. Reason is simple as once HIV exposed is outside the human body the receptors needed to infect are damaged leaving it unable to infect.

The concern should be related to other BBV infections so pardon my french but how the hell are you not concerned?

Asked and answered. I'm not going to repeat a 3rd time.

My advice also remain the same to see a doctor with regards to BBV risks. I wish you well.
