Having a panic attack
« on: February 06, 2019, 02:42:59 pm »
I took my pills 40 minutes late and I'm having a panic attack.
I know this sounds dumb, but I need reassurance.

You're welcome.

Look trying to take the meds at the same time and keeping a routine like that helps ensure you take them and don't forget them. That said 40 mins is not an issue, hell taking your meds a few hours later or earlier even is not going to make any difference with modern meds and missing the time occasionally is going to happen, that's life.  ;)

Fabio -

I get how you felt. I’m very OCD and that has worked it’s way into my meds. I use a pill minder app that reminds me every morning at 8 to take my meds - and every 15 minutes thereafter until I do. It also tracks how many I have left, refill reminders, and appointments. I can look back at every day since I started and see exactly when I took my meds because it records when I hit the ‘Taken’ check box. And it’s a free app!

Gives this crazy mind peace of mind!

And my ID doctor told me not to obsess too much (yeah, right!) - as JimDublin said, the modern meds have a long half-life.

Yeah unfortunately I have that kind of OCD and not the cleaning one haha.
I try to obsess less about the minutes taking the meds, since the maximum I have taken was 40 minutes like the time I posted.
It just feels hard to trust, especially when I obsess over timing haha. Imagine,I go to job interviews or a meeting with friends 30 or 15 minutes early.....go figure haha
