Happy Winter Solstice!

I'm so glad the days will start getting longer now. I really dislike having to put the lights on at 3:15 pm!

I love the long days of summer... below is a photo taken this summer of a sunset at 10pm. Enjoy!

Solstice hugs,
Ann

Thanks Ann... I have a question I hope you or one of the other experts can answer for me.

If I am not wearing my winter jacket and cap during winter solsctice and am enjoying such solstice with a person with unknown viral status can I catch the Winter Blues or a Cold?  And if so, when should I test?

Hi Ann,

This is a thread I can really get behind, since the Christmas holiday generally
leave me feeling pretty blue.

I do kinda enjoy the short days of winter, though, since the long days of summer
are so blasted hot here in Texas.  Then again, it does mean I can start my garden
again in about 1-2 months.    :)

Cheers,

Henry

BTW...its been so warm here in Columbus, the spring flowers are starting to break through the soil.  My crocuses are coming up and other things.  (sigh)... Ive yelled at them that its too soon, but do they listen?

Oh dear me Ann I can relate. I think we're probably around the same lattitude. The sun was behind the mountains at3:30 today and it was pitch black by five.

This planet's axis is clearly broken and I think we should invest considerable resources into fixing it.

Jan - I'm coming to see you next crhistmas! You guys actually have something to celebrate this time of year!

Thank God!

It being the shortest day of the year only means everyone one we experience from here on out will be longer!

Everyday from here on out is a day closer to the end of soul-crushing darkness!

Thanks for reminding me, Ann!  I didn't realize it was today...

Thanks Ann! Here it gets dark all year round between 6.30 and 7.30pm,
I don't know when the sun gets up, it's usually the birds that wake me up
and the heat, man, sometimes it's just unbearable  :P

Well, all I have to say about the Winter Solstice is HOORAY!!!!. As you know, it also happens to be my birthday, my favorite day.

I do love the Summer Solstice, though.  It means the days start getting shorter and shorter.
