Considering Detox/Fasting/Juicing - any advice?
« on: April 17, 2016, 01:46:15 pm »
 Hi,
I am considering heading to one of those 3 day detox resorts where you basically only "eat" juice or some veggie soup. A couple i know have done it a few times and swear they feel great afterwards. I used to make fun of them. however, i have recently developed psoriasis and my wife is pushing me to try it.
I guess it cannot cause harm, and i will de-stress, however i wonder a if there is a risk involved since my meds need to be taken after a meal? Im on Complera.
Any advice, feedback, experiences etc would be appreciated.

Complera needs a real meal. My (non-expert, non-medical) understanding is that juice will move through the stomach too fast for optimal absorption.

Talk to your doctor or pharmacist before you commit to this.

Thanks HarleyMC,
I was thinking the same thing. I think they also give veggie soups and lots of fresh fruot/veggies, but i suspect that this is not enough either. I will ask my doc for sure. thanks!
