Need your opinion
« on: May 27, 2011, 10:03:40 pm »
Hi,
I have been looking for a specialist. I have been working with my primary care physician so far. I emailed this specialist and explained what my situation/numbers are. He was very kind in his reply and told me "treatment should be started as long as you are willing and able." I am a little confused about his comment. My numbers are
3/8/11 diagnosed
3/8/11 CD4 438 VL 65
5/2/11 CD4 531 VL 126
My next test is in July. Do I really need to start treatment or can I wait? My primary care physician said I didn't have to start treatment yet since my numbers are good.
Please let me know what you think. I hear different things and it is making me feel very uncomfortable. Thank you.
JP

JP,

I looked at your other recent posts.  I don't see any particular reason that you should have to start treatment immediately...certainly not prior to your next appointment in July.  Your CD4 is good, and your VL is low.

Based on your previous posts, I think your time is best spent reading up here rather than rushing to get any scrips filled.
AIDS isn't for sissies.
