Am I infected by oral sex
« on: December 19, 2012, 10:51:44 am »
Hello,
I have made a very bad mistake on June 16th and August 9th I had unprotected oral sex with sex worker where I performed on her. I have been very scared very since because i have had bleeding gums in the past i dont remember bleeding from the mouth on either of those days when i was brushing my teeth. Using the August 9th as the last time I have had unprotected sex I have been tested 4 times at days 40,46,77, and 91 and the tests have come back negative. I understand that 13 weeks is said to be conclusive. But I had continued to have a lot of issues that lead me to believe that I could turn positive after 13 weeks.
1. Since the end of August I have dropped 30 pounds.
2. I have had a soar throat for around 2 months.
3. I have bumps all over my chest, back, and stomach.
4. I have a a lot of dry flaky skin.
5. I have a low grade fever for the last two months. Never over 100
6. Always I have had issues with digestive system. Not runny diarrhea but what I can a loose stool for over a month.
Based on reading the Internet I'm afraid that not only that I might have HIV about it might have moved on to aids based on the weight loss (could be considered aids wasting because I lost 10 percent of my weight), diarrhea and throat issues that could be caused by opportunist infections.
What are chances of being positive after 13 week test? If positive could I move to aids this quickly? As anybody heard of someone testing positive after having a negative 13 week test?
Pls give me your thoughts?

Giving oral sex is only theoretically a risk for HIV transmission. Your negative test results have absolutely confirmed that your HIV negative status is reliable.

Whatever has caused your "symptoms" has nothing to do with HIV. You should be talking with your doctor about that. HIV is not your problem. Period.

No further HIV test is necessary.

Andy,
How can it be that is no threat for oral sex? I am very concerned with the 30 pounds of weight I read that this could be considered aids wasting. I have a 13 week negative test but I'm afraid that I will test positive on my next test.

Just because you haven't gotten an explanation for your various symptoms does not by default invalidate your negative HIV test result. You are in fact HIV negative. Period.

You should be discussing your symptomatic concerns with your doctor instead of mis-diagnosing yourself. HIV is not your problem and there is nothing more we can do for you here.
