i am concerned and need help?
« on: December 11, 2009, 04:13:27 pm »
Hi,
I met with a guy from the internet and i gave him unprotected oral sex and protected anal sex for two times. During the oral sex i didn't let him cum in my mouth but there may be some precum.(i guess it must be.) After two days i felt some pain in my sore throat and after 2 days from it i started coughing but it is not dry. Now i feel depressed because i think i am infected and i always examine myself touch my lymphs for controlling etc. I know it is low risk but i can't stop myself thinking about it. Should i test my self for hiv? now it has been one week after i perform sex. You say you should test yourself regularly if you are sexually active but it was the first time that i have sex. Please help, i need some advice..

Nothing you did put you at risk for HIV transmission. You used condoms for anal intercourse which is exactly what you are supposed to. Although from time to time we hear of someone claiming to have become infected through giving oral, those claims never seem to hold up under careful examination.

Your saliva contains over a dozen elements and proteins which are a very effective barrier against the transmission of viable HIV.

Symptoms never would show up that soon after a genuinely risky exposure, which I hasten to repeat you did not have. If your symptoms persist you should discuss them with your doctor. There is no need for HIV testing.

It's common when becoming sexually active that along with excitement there is also anxiety and I suspect that is at least in part what you are experiencing. Just make sure you always use condoms for intercourse and you will continue to be well protected.

This is NOT an HIV situation. Period.

Cheers.

Thanks for reply, I feel a bit scary and i think it is because of it is my first experience. I think i may be infected and sometimes i can't take this idea out of my mind.It is a hard situation. You think i don't need hiv test, should i worry about hiv if any other symptom occur?

Feelings aren't facts even when they feel as if they are. There is absolutely nothing in what you have reported which suggests a genuine HIV risk to me. And no, there is no need for testing.

You do need to know that neither the presence nor the absence of symptoms will ever tell you anything accurately about your HIV status if there has been a real risk. Which I hasten to repeat you did not have. Only an HIV test can give you your status accurately in a risk circumstance. But if you continue to always use condoms everytime you won't have a problem.

Take a breath and get on with your life.

Hi again, i look at the forums and i saw people who claims they are infected by giving oral sex even receiving oral sex? What do you think about it? Is it really unnecessary to worry?

See what happens when you go where you shouldn't. You were never at risk.

From time to time someone may insist giving oral was their only risk. Under careful scientific scrutiy and for various reasons, those claims never seem to hold up.

Do yourself a big favor and stop surfing the net looking for material with which to feed your fears. If you continue to do that I can absolutely guarantee you will find that fuel, and all to no good purpose. We've given you the real deal about oral. You can choose to accept that or not, but I can tell you that we're not going to engage in a back and forth about this.

You were not at risk. You can go ahead and get tested and collect the inevitable negative result if you need that for your peace of mind.

That's a good plan. And make sure to always without exception to use condoms for vaginal/anal intercourse.

Cheers.

anal rubbing
« Reply #14 on: December 03, 2010, 09:06:36 pm »
Hello , I was enjoying with a boy and he rubbed his penis to my anus for a while. Then he became rough and he poked my anus with his penis for a couple of minutes. After that i realized very few of penis was entering inside my anus and I made him stop. I controlled my anus with my hand and it was wet. It may be either precum or saliva. I immediately go to the bathroom and i cleaned my anus with soap and water. I asked him if he had unprotected sex before and he said no. I am very concerned now, What is my propability of hiv infection?

Berka, I've merged your threads here. Please follow our rule and in the future use only this same thread for any entries you may want to make. Thanks for your cooperation.

As to your current concern, it doesn't seem as if there was genuine penetration. If the wetness you felt was semen that would have been very apparent.

In the future you need to make clear to anyone whom you are with that you are not interested in any kind of unprotected anal play. As far as risk this time, apparently you did have some sense of a part of his penis entering you. It was brief and only the one time.

Just as a precaution I would suggest that you get tested at 13 weeks just to confirm your negative status. That way you won't have to be wondering about the matter. Given what you have reported I do expect you to test negative.
