hello, here is my story...sorry for my english...
am living in an arabic country where hiv is a shame virus...
2 years ago,i got a sexual relation with a girl in a bar & it was my first relation, while we were making sex the condom was broken in the end even it was a good mark that i buy before going to the bar...
when the condom was broken i was ejaculating inside her and i did not know that the condom was broken but what i remember is that 1 minute before ejaculating the condom was fine coz i used to retire my penis several times...
anyway i did not get any of hiv symptoms and i forgot this accident...
now after 2 years am in a serious relation with a new girl and i was the first one who penetrate her without condom from exactly a month... after 2 weeks of penetration she got all the hiv symptoms that u can imagine and i cant say that those symptoms are from stress bcoz she donno about my old accident and she dont have any idea about hiv but her symptoms make me really ill...am not frightened on myself coz i dont care if am hiv positif as much as i care for this girl coz i really love her and i dont want to be the reason of her infection...
my question is: should i consider those symptoms as hiv symptoms and if am hiv positif: is it usual to have no symptoms since 2 years now...?

It would be a good idea for you to be tested for HIV, not just because of the condom breakage two years ago, but also  because you're starting a new relationship. In fact you and your new partner might consider both having full STD screens. A full screen tests for a range of STD's including HIV infection.

The likelihood that you've been infected with HIV from the sexual encounter two years ago is extremely low and I expect your test results to be negative. You should be aware that symptoms mean nothing when it comes to diagnosing HIV and I would think her recent illness is not related to HIV.

Matty's spot on with what he's told you. Further, HIV is a virus that is not easy to transmit. It's significantly more difficult to transmit from female to male. Given this was a single incident in which you were protected for at least part of the time the odds against transmission having occured are way in your favor.

I do expect you will test negative. But as I think you understand, HIV status is not something to guess about. If that was your only unprotected incident then you can get tested anytime now.

As far as your girlfriend is concerned, she should see her doctor if her symptoms persist. Your head is doing a trip on you. I don't see this as an HIV situation.

yes it was my only exposure & yes am ready to be tested... and i will do it very soon

but till than i just want to ask some questions about the status of my girlfriend..
now she has no symptoms.her symptoms occured for just 10 days,they just appear at night and disappear in the morning specially fever & vomiting...
does this have any relation with hiv or it was just a flu like symptoms?

Her symptoms are not in any way HIV specific. If they persist she should see her doctor.

Just in general you need to know that neither the presence nor the absence of symptoms is ever the way to know HIV status. If there has been unprotected intercourse then the person needs to get tested at 13 weeks. Everything else is guesswork and HIV status is never something to guess about.

Hiv cannot be diagnosed by symptoms and it cannot be ruled out by the lack of symptoms. The ONLY way to know your hiv status is through testing.

As you've already been told, both you and your girlfriend should have complete sexually transmitted infection testing, not just hiv testing, before you start having intercourse without condoms.

You need to be using condoms for anal or vaginal intercourse, every time, no exceptions until such time as you are in a securely monogamous relationship where you have both tested for ALL sexually transmitted infections together. To agree to have unprotected intercourse is to consent to the possibility of being infected with an STI. Sex with a condom lasts only a matter of minutes, but hiv is forever.

Have a look through all three condom and lube links in my signature line so you can use condoms with confidence.

Anyone who is sexually active should be having a full sexual health care check-up, including but not limited to hiv testing, at least once a year and more often if unprotected intercourse occurs.

If you aren't already having regular, routine check-ups, now is the time to start. As long as you make sure condoms are being used for intercourse, you can fully expect your routine hiv tests to return with negative results. Don't forget to always get checked for all the other sexually transmitted infections as well, because they are MUCH easier to transmit than hiv.

No. There is no relationship between HIV and amenorrhoea.

Celebrate it by using a latex condom everytime you have intercourse.
