So, In preparation for some life-changes, I have put my piano up for sale on craigslist.   It is a wonderful piano, weighted keys, lots of instruments, and it is electric.  I am selling it for $850, firm.

So, the following is a response from the advertisement:

Hi;

Not to insult you but since it is for my 6 year old daughter, let me know if you are willing to part with it for 250. Thanks

No.  The price is $850 firm.  Additionally, I ask you to consider the following question very carefully:  If you give your six-year-old daughter a diamond ring, does the ring's value diminish simply because you gave it to a six year old?  Probably not.

Now, in light of this logic, please, tell me...  WHAT KIND OF ASSHOLE QUESTION IS: "since it is for my 6 year old daughter, let me know if you're willing to part with it for 250?"

you should give it to them out of the goodness of your heart for $150.... what kind of human being are you....depriving a 6 year old girl from a piano and happiness....i cant believe you!!!!

LOL j/k....some people just try to save a couple of bucks and will say anything to acheive it,,in spanish they say "tratando a cojerte de pendejo" (well puerto rican spanish anyways)....some people have no shame!!!!!!...dont sell it for less than what its worth...and if you can sell it for more than its worth then go for it hahaha....

You must have never worked in retail. People will try and come up with ANYTHING to get the price lowered. I'll admit, that's a pretty hefty amount to ask for off though! But they would have never found out if they didn't ask.....

LMAO....and an expensive piano at that...if i asked for a piano at 6 i would have gotten a 30 dollar one from toys r us....and of course i wouldnt have complained.....first the 850 dollar piano, ps3, gucci, and finally "daddy i want a bmw....no not a 3 series i want a 7 series....3 series are for poor people"

I play the piano... and I am very glad, fifteen years after the fact, that my mother forced me to take lessons.

However, at the time, it was an absolute living hell.

I started learning to play the piano at 5 (and horse riding too). Everytime I was crying and yelling that I would NOT continue, my mum just had to say "that fine, dear, i'll get rid of the piano tomorrow then". I studied for 15 years.. there was NO WAY I was going to live without a piano in my life. I still have the one she offered me for my 18th bday. Needs tuning
