Most of us went to about the same kind of public schools.  Anyone know how a chunk of our elected leaders ended up so clueless?

In the case of Inhofe and climate change - are Washington politicians playing dumb to please a voting block?  Do smart conservatives who don't want to play dumb never enter politics?

Jeb Bush's foreign policy speech on the 18th was quite ignorant.

until voters turn out in >70% numbers, then $$$ determines our policy. Right now, everyone benefits (well everyone except the average citizen since corporations are "people" too and the "poor" are to be despised) from gridlock; and money pours in (more on the right than left) from the partisan, uncompromising rhetoric.

As long as the Republicans are the party of unbelievable hyperbole (some might even go as far as calling this rhetoric "lies" ;) ) and no compromise, America is doomed to stagnant  :(
