Endocrinologist / testosterone specialist

When I got HIV everyone said find a doc who specializes in infectious disease so I did. But, he is only good at hiv and not low "T" or ED. For low testosterone find an endocrinologist. My plunging "T" numbers stumped my hiv doc over the last few years plus his view on low "T" is middle ages thinking. My endocrinologist who is a modern thinker and firmly rooted in this century did a blood test and found a tumor on my pituitary gland. I just had an MRI to find out if the tumor can be surgically removed or if another option exists. The symptoms over the last few years included  exhaustion, ED, low "T" numbers which dropped slowly at first then quickly later on and an inability to deal with cold temperatures. Cold never bothered me until the tumor started growing and my "T" numbers began the long decline. My hiv doc had no clue while my endocrinologist nailed the diagnosis. BTW, if untreated the tumor would lead to a loss of sight and/or a heart attack. So, if you suffer from low "T" go find an endocrinologist just to make sure nothing worse is lurking about.

Wow Bill, how are you doing? Can they treat the tumour? Hope everything goes well for you. I'm sorry to know you got such a (potentially) scary diagnosis, but at the same time, I'm glad you got the expert help that led to finding out what was wrong.
