Breaking News - Clinton Wins Ohio, Texas and Rhode Island
« on: March 04, 2008, 11:00:56 pm »
Though Texas is too close to call.

Why do I feel that the Democratic primaries are more interesting than the general election

Modified to add Rhode Island win for Clinton and Vermont win for Obama.

Added CNN projection of Clinton Win in Texas.

I guess we have ourselves a real race, folks

I agree Iggy. This definitely beats and to some degree makes up for those times when you feel you're left to pick the lesser of two evils.

Now this is interesting. For those of us that are outside of the US, another Clinton is far more reassuring than Obama or McCain, but then who cares what we think.. ;)

If she ends up being the candidate, who would/could she pick as her VP?

Well, she managed to break his momentum; which is what she needed to do.  The race is getting less and less exciting for me.  Now it's just becoming tedious and tiresome.  Get it over with for god sake.

It's basically going to go all the way to the convention....probably with them being tied in delegate count (or Obama leading slightly) and relying on the super-delegates to decide the nominee.

Ultimately, I think Clinton will get the nomination but McCain will win the general election.

I wouldn't be so fast to say that McCain would win.  Alot more people than what we think are tired of beating the dead horse (war in Iraq).  People are ready for that to be over.

I personally hope Obama gets the nom, but I'll vote democrat either way.  I don't know who Hillary would pick for a vp, but John Edwards would certainly be a good idea.  My two cents.

On CBS this morning, Clinton hinted at the "very real possibility" of a Clinton/Obama ticket in the general election.  Both candidates have danced around the issue, and this is the first time I've heard either one of them flat out mention the possibility.  I voted for Obama in my state's caucuses, but I would still be very pleased if Hillary was the democratic nominee and had Obama as her running mate.  If "experience" is the greatest criticism against him, what better place for him to gain the necessary experience to quiet those criticisms than the office of the Vice Presidency.  I just hope they figure out who gets top billing quickly.

It's one way to vote in the primaries, but when the General Election comes in November, the question you asked will be answered. That's not to say Hillary or Obama couldn't do a good job. America just isn't ready. .

Whichever democrat gains the nomination, we have a woman or a biracial man as major contenders. Is the country ready?  uhmm...isn't it obvious?
When I see McCain he often seems rather fragile. Physically. I am most interested as to who his running mate will be. You know, in case McCain breaks a hip or becomes incapacitated. Or croaks.

DCGUY: ya never know what going to happen for sure. I mean, it's all part of the excitement, isn't it.
Remember, the voters in this country elected George W Bush twice.

I just hope and pray the next 4 years will belong to the Democratic Party. We'll be pulling out of Iraq if democrats win the White House. We'll be seeing something done about healthcare--just what exactly, remains to be seen. A politicians promises are often quite diminished when they come out of the wash of Congressional processes.

http://fathersforlife.org/hist/feminism-is-communism1.htm

We must understand, that feminism, is socialism/communism.[1] Indeed, where Karl Marx and every communist on earth want to create a class struggle in order to control the means of production, feminists just replace class with gender.[2] Where communists attempted global conquest, now, the feminists create a silent "constant state of war" implemented silently against every home and family via feminism.[3] I find it very odd that other [of] their party intellectuals have also made this same connection:

Everything feminists advocate was advocated by the Communist Party of the United States in the 1940's and 1950's. Betty Friedan, author of The Feminine Mystique (1963) and founder of modern feminism, hid the fact that she had been a Communist activist for 20 years. (See feminist historian Kate Weigand's, Red Feminism: American Communism and the Making of Women's Liberation, Johns Hopkins Univ. Press, 2001). Feminism simply transfers Marxist class analysis to gender. The aim is the same: the "patriarchy" (white men, capitalism) is the source of all evil and must be destroyed ("transformed"). Women (the proletariat) and anyone else deemed "oppressed" (gays, people of color) must be handed position and power on a silver platter.[4]

"Feminism is the intellectual organization of gender hatred, just as Marxism was the intellectual organization of class hatred. Feminism's business is fashioning weapons to be used against men in society, education, politics, law and divorce court. The feminist aim is to overthrow "patriarchal tyranny." In this undertaking, the male's civil rights count for no more than those of the bourgeoisie in Soviet Russia or the Jews in National Socialist Germany."[5]

[1] American Communism and the Making of Women's Liberation, by Henry Makow, PhD., October 3, 2001
[2] Sexuality is to feminism what work is to Marxism. Toward a Feminist Theory of the State, by Catharine A. MacKinnon, 1989, First Harvard University Press, p. 3.
[3] They will subvert all foreign nations using this same gender warfare as well. I believe this is what is presently occurring foundationally in the Middle East.

[5] What civil rights has wrought. Paul Craig Roberts, July 26, 2000. Townhall.com - Creators Syndicate.

http://www.conservapedia.com/Communism

While Communism calls for the absence of personal ownership and claims to support a communal society in the abstract, the practical reality of communism is strikingly different.

As a political movement, communism advocates the establishment of a classless society. In actuality it has middle and upper classes just as stratified as in the "Capitalist" societies it critiques or seeks to overthrow (see Nomenklatura). It officially prohibits personal economic growth, but allows the well-connected political elite to amass power and wealth, similar to the unfettered capitalism favored by conservatives. (see Ruling class).

It generally advocates a socialist economy in which the public, whether the state or other group, owns the means of production and in which the wealth of the nation is divided fairly among the citizens. Yet in communist countries party members (there is only one Party) have special stores in which ordinary people cannot shop, stores which are immune to the perennial shortages which the lower class must endure (see queuing).

Communists usually claim they are good, and that they want world peace, which is just lies to deceive people, because they do just the opposite. They usually create war, abolish personal freedoms, and try to clamp down on individualistic creativity. Under Communism, the people become slaves of the vast government machine, who controls every aspect, no matter how small, of each citizen. Economically, they are a failure, as you can see why the people, tired of economic ruin, themselves have overthrown Communist regimes in Central and Eastern Europe. They are hypocrites because they say one thing, and do another in order to deceive people and create chaos and anarchy from where they can take over.

Communists have only caused pain and suffering wherever they have taken over. They don't believe in the well being of people, just in the well being of "Party Members". Communist dictators and fellow Party Members are usually the only people well off,in most cases living like Czars or the worst "burgeouis" they criticize so much. In Eastern Europe and Russia millions were killed for having "petty Burgeuois" tendencies. The worst and most opressive dictators in history have been Communists; to name a few examples: J.Stalin, Fidel Castro, Gen. Jaruzelski and Ceausescu in Romania, just to name a few. Isn't it tiresome to hear these Communists label anything against their ideas as "fascists" and "racist" or "nazi"?

Sourcing through conservapedia I see. I'm not quite sure how this relates to the discussion at hand, but maybe you can enlighten us. This is troubling:

So Dauschhund, you cant't blame me for gay bashing, if that was what you ment.

Personally, i would not have used the term "on a silver platter"... its more like "at gun point"...

Nobody mentioned "gay bashing", Mr. Strawman.  We're wondering what your intention was in the first place of posting a piece about feminism being " the intellectual organization of gender hatred" etc. and some gibberish about communism, linked to from a web site with masthead that denigrates single child-rearing women.

BUT WHILE WE'RE AT IT now that you voluntarily mention gay bashing, that fathersforlife.org site of yours DOES IN FACT gay bash.

http://fathersforlife.org/Table_contents_gj.htm#Gay_Issues

Guess that slipped by you (or something).

I'm not sure what you are talking about, but the "at gun point" is another unfortunate choice of words.

If as you admit, you're not reading or responsible for what is on the internet then what is the point of providing the links? Before this thread goes up in "we know what", I'm going to report it to the mods and see if they can make sense out of it. For the record, I find the links inflammatory.

The links were givena as a reference, not as a testimony that i agree with everything that is found by searching the sites. And searching you must have done, because this inflammatory link, what ever it contains, was not provided by me.
However, i can see that this gay-bashing issue is just an excuse to remove the core-issue, the political discussion, it handles the motivation of the american political left. Your aim was not to clean the forum, but to remove the post to begin with.

Well dear, you've never quite explained what the intention was of your first copy/paste and what the relevance is to this thread (though I already asked that you do so once, which you ignored).

*sigh*...  so why are you dodging explaining it?  I plain just don't get what you were trying to say, but if you want to tap dance around the issue then I don't know what more to say here.

http://fathersforlife.org/hist/feminism-is-communism1.htm

The feminist aim is to overthrow "patriarchal tyranny." In this undertaking, the male's civil rights count for no more than those of the bourgeoisie in Soviet Russia or the Jews in National Socialist Germany."[5]

http://www.conservapedia.com/Communism
