The New Year in Montreal
« on: December 31, 2007, 08:19:07 pm »
Well we finally did it and I am posting this from our new home on Rue Fullum, near the gay village in Montreal.  This move has been over two years in the planning and it was a royal pain in the ass, but worth every frustration and setback to see it finally happen.  We are very happy with the new house, even though the dogs absolutely hate the cold and snow.  But they will adjust and eventually they will get to like their little coats and booties.

Just wanted to let some people know we made it and to wish you a Happy New Year.

Dear Joe and Stephen...I remember you talking about moving to Montreal when we were there but I figured you dropped the idea in the time that has passed...I must admit I am a bit shocked but happy for you at the same time.
It took alot of guts to leave Ft. Lauderdale but you are gutsy guys not afraid of a challenge.  Happy New Year north of the border!!!

Bon chance to you both in your new home.

Joe,

Congratulations to you and Stephen on your move to Canada.  It sounds like you are very happy, and I hope it all continues to go well for you.

As time goes on, particularly over the next year or two, it would be interesting to hear your thoughts and experiences about what it is like to pick up and move to a different country.  I also think it could make for a fascinating story.

Poz editors -- are you paying attention?

Sincerely,

Hey you guys!
I am positively tickled for both of you. I know this was an arduous journey, but that journey made all of the blessings possible. I wish you both well, and that you are both finally happy. Claude mentioned that you may all get together some time, so give him a huge sloppy kiss for me. :-*

Dearest Joe and Stephen,

Congratulations!!!  We know how much you wanted to move north of the boarder, where our marriages are recognized.  Montreal is a beautiful city and Thom and I consider ourselves so lucky to have been married there.  And we will never forget your part in our ceremony.  You guys are too wonderful for words.

The dogs will become used to the snow as our eleven month old lady is doing here in Wisconsin.

A most Happy New Year to you both and please don't forget your devoted friends here on the forums.

Hugs, Ric and Thom

Thank you all for the warm wishes and I would have responded earlier, but getting internet access in Canada is just as slow as in the states.  Otherwise we love it and even went to our first Ikea store (how domestic can you get).  We are very busy getting the house in order but it's great, it was just redone two years ago and we are renting so our housing is less than 1/4 of what it cost in Florida and no 3 insurance policies, so financially we are way ahead.

I'll do a blog entry to share the details of the journey, our border encursions and smuggling Serostim into Canada from New York.

Happy New Year to you all.
