Coping mechanisms

In keeping with our outdoor adventures before the snows of winter fly, the boyfriend and I headed out of town yesterday.

Our first stop along the highway on the way to Jim's cabin was for brunch at a family restaurant  based on the story of Noah's Ark.

Somewhat  kitsch but a lot of fun.

And God said, "You are to bring into the ark two of all living creatures, male and female, to keep them alive with you. Two of every kind of bird, of every kind of animal and of every kind of creature that moves along the ground will come to you to be kept alive, including two travelling homos."



Then it was on to the cabin down this quiet county road where you can see by the hint of colour on the trees that autumn will indeed begin in four short days.





That's me in the doorway of the guest cabin on the property next to Jim's, which he recently sold to his daughter.

All in all it was a good day of rejuvenation from the challenges of my life lately. Nothing like a good dose of nature to calm the mind and help put things in perspecitve!
