Title: RISK from BITE, had wound!!!!!!!!!
Post by: Ghost07 on January 21, 2013, 05:43:09 am
Hi,
I was bitten by a girl who works as a SW. We did not have sex, oral or any thingelse, just talk and hug . When i was hugging her, She bit me on my hand that bite not hard and i didn't  feel hurt. When i went home, i saw my hand has some scab and wound in my finger. at time she bit me, i was bit drank. So i didn,t know and not sure this crab and wound have before, due her bite or after i came home. I don't know her status.
1)  I can has risk?
2) I know saliva inactive virus and kill them. Howeve, if in her mouth has blood mixed with saliva and my hand has wound (not sure fress wound or not) or scrab, that can be contact blood to blood, so can i has risk? What about in case, she is H+
I see in forum that, to transmit the wound, sore must be larger, deep and bleeding alot, is this true?
Should I need to test? what about the Combo Ag/Ab test at 4 week.

Ghost,

You have NOT had a risk for hiv infection and you do NOT need to test over this NO RISK situation.

Unless you're in the habit of repeatedly punching a person in the mouth before they kiss, blow or bite you, there could not possibly be enough blood present to pose a risk.

Here's what you need to know in order to avoid hiv infection:

You need to be using condoms for anal or vaginal intercourse, every time, no exceptions until such time as you are in a securely monogamous relationship where you have both tested for ALL sexually transmitted infections together.

To agree to have unprotected intercourse is to consent to the possibility of being infected with an STI. Sex without a condom lasts only a matter of minutes, but hiv is forever.

Have a look through the condom and lube links in my signature line so you can use condoms with confidence.

ALTHOUGH YOU DO NOT NEED TO TEST FOR HIV OVER THIS BITE, anyone who is sexually active should be having a full sexual health care check-up, including but not limited to hiv testing, at least once a year and more often if unprotected intercourse occurs.

If you aren't already having regular, routine check-ups, now is the time to start. As long as you make sure condoms are being used for intercourse, you can fully expect your routine hiv tests to return with negative results.

Don't forget to always get checked for all the other sexually transmitted infections as well, because they are MUCH easier to transmit than hiv. Some of the other STIs can be present with no obvious symptoms, so the only way to know for sure is to test.

Use condoms for anal or vaginal intercourse, correctly and consistently, and you will avoid hiv infection. It really is that simple!

Ghost,

As a sexually active adult, you should be getting a FULL sexual health check up at least once a year regardless.

But you're not going to test positive over this bite. No way, no how.

Hiv is spread primarily through unprotected anal or vaginal intercourse, not biting, not blowjobs, not kissing. UNPROTECTED INTERCOURSE.

Use condoms for anal or vaginal intercourse, correctly and consistently, and you will avoid hiv infection. It really is that simple!!!
