possible hiv? worried :(

I have always been worried about HIV and finally on December 2013 I managed to get an STD test including HIV, I only had one sexual partner and the last time we had sex was June 2012 and we broke up, anyways my test came negative. I forgot all about it but since last week I started worrying about the guy that I made out with but we did not have sex only genital rubbing (frottage), we were both wet but never had intercourse. Im not sure exactly when it happened but it was something like middle or end of September 2013. When i went to get tested I did not tell the nurse about this because I thought it wasnt risky i just told about my sexual encounter but now i started worrying about it. My results were negative but im still worried because I dont think it had been exactly 3 months after this event. Now I have bad sore throat and fatigue scared its beggining of hiv symptoms. Would the results still be accurate after 2 months?

The risk factors for sexually transmitted HIV are from unprotected anal and vaginal sex .

The things you are concerned with such as frottage and making out are not a risk and you do not need to worry or test for HIV over this incident .

Here's what you need to know in order to avoid hiv infection:

You need to be using condoms for anal or vaginal intercourse, every time, no exceptions until such time as you are in a securely monogamous relationship where you have both tested for ALL sexually transmitted infections together.

To agree to have unprotected intercourse is to consent to the possibility of being infected with an STI. Sex without a condom lasts only a matter of minutes, but hiv is forever.

Have a look through the condom and lube links in my signature line so you can use condoms with confidence.

Although you did not have a risk and do not need to test for this specific incident , anyone who is sexually active should be having a full sexual health care check-up, including but not limited to hiv testing, at least once a year and more often if unprotected intercourse occurs.

If you aren't already having regular, routine check-ups, now is the time to start. As long as you make sure condoms are being used for intercourse, you can fully expect your routine hiv tests to return with negative results.

Don't forget to always get checked for all the other sexually transmitted infections as well, because they are MUCH easier to transmit than hiv. Some of the other STIs can be present with no obvious symptoms, so the only way to know for sure is to test.

Use condoms for anal or vaginal intercourse, correctly and consistently, and you will avoid hiv infection. It really is that simple!

Ok thank you very much. But one last question even if there was a risk would the test be accurate after 2 months?

The average time to seroconversion is 22 days. Most who are infected will test positive by 6 weeks. For various reasons a small number will take longer and that is why we follow the CDC recommendation to test at 3 months for a conclusive negative result.

Hello everyone, im really confused about frottage. I am a female and have been seeing a guy since last year, we never had sex but 2 weeks ago we got close and and he started rubbing his penis against my vagina entrance for 10 minutes. Then he put saliva on his penis for better lubrication there wasnt any penetration but im not sure if the tip went in because we were both wet and it was really slippery, he tried to put it inside but i did not let him so he just ejaculated on my stomach. Today i noticed a red path on my tongue never had it before is it ars? Now im worried i got infected with hiv because we were both wet and the virus could of slipped easier inside and i dont want to get tested i dont feel brave enough for that. What is the risks of hiv if rubbing against vagina if really close to penetration? Because he tried to put it inside. I have anxiety please help me.

We have already addressed your concerns about frottage ... its not a risk . You were either penetrated or you were not and only you and him know the answer to that .
I really doubt you were penetrated and think you are being paranoid but if you wish to test for peace of mind only you can do so at 6 weeks weeks past any possible exposure and again at 3 months to confirm the results .

We get the almost penetrated or I don't know if I was penetrated question everyday and my answer is always the same ... test if you are unsure because if you do not know then how would I . You should expect a negative HIV test if you choose to take one, they are always negative in these situations . Best of luck .
