Hey WindySkies, based on the symptoms you described, I recommend you see a doctor asap! It could be a kidney infection, bladder infection or something related. Blood & pain with fever & back pain should be taken seriously! I would see whomever you feel the most comfortable with. They can treat you and refer you to more specialized care if necessary. Just see a doctor soon, hope you feel better.

Pretty much have all the symptoms.  Would you go see your ID Doctor, or a general practitioner?

If my regular doctor (ID or GP) could not see me that day, I would go to an Urgent Care facility with those symptoms.  If it is an infection, you want antibiotics pronto.

Where would you have gone if you weren't positive?  Unless you have consolidated your care to your ID, I see no reason to go there for everyday medical issues.  Although, again I'll say, you need to be seen ASAP, given the symptoms -- so consider an Urgent Care.

Hope it gets better soon.

Mike

Mike

I would have gone to an urgent care or my regular doctor, but I also want to see someone that's familiar with the medication I'm already on.

I'm just going to head to the nearest urgent care since it doesn't seem to be getting any better.

Can you consolidate all your medical care (both HIV and general practice issues) into one doctor?  My doctor see's me for everything,  he is an HIV doctor but covers all my care.

If your doctor only sees you for HIV related issues you should ask him ahead of time how you should handle these situations and if he wants you to maintain a seperate GP find someone that is familiar with HIV or get a new doctor that does everything.
Don't be fancy, just get dancey
