Adding on a two car garage and a breezeway. Then have to put on the new roof over the front porch and then apply new vinyl siding.

I hope it survived the rough weather last night! :-\
-
;) Why's it leaning to the left ? JUST KIDDING !! Looks good..... Good luck with the rest of the project !

Wow, that is impressive. A project for me is cleaning the bathroom. :-\
-
That's impressive, Rod! New Yorker here who calls the super when he needs a garage built.
House looks nice too.
-
Rodney
I'm impressed. Good lord who knew you were such a multi-talented young man? :o
I have SEVERAL projects here that I need done. How soon can you be here? ;D
RAB
(Remember to put in enough outlets. The ones in my garage are in all the wrong places.)
(Are you going to insulate and heat it too?)
-
Rod, your so butch! :-*
Dan
(who can't build a damn thing)
-
Looking good! I'm in the process of evicting the squirrels that have taken up residence in eves of the garage of my rental house. The chewed right through the facia board.
-
Rodney,
I didn't realize that carpentry/construction was one of your many talents! It looks great so far....
Kudos to you for digging into a project! As someone else mentioned, a "project" for me would be cleaning out my bookshelves....
Hugs,
Alan

That looks like a good project for your neck of the woods. I would never tackle that down here, else I would get a major case of Swamp Ass1.
It's still in the high 80's to low 90's down here.
1An unfortunate condition in which the taint (the often hair-bespeckled, flrshy space between balls and ass) is wallowing in the depths of a vile, festering, putrid poo swamp. A generally uncomfortable, unwipable ass. The only cure is gold bond. Swamp ass is generally found in the southern states.
Jesus Christ, I hope Janice doesn't notice the permeating stench of my swamp ass while she's sucking on my balls!
-
That looks much larger than what I consider a "project" :) Good luck.
-
Great Going Rod!
I envy you, I would shutter at the thought of building a bird house these days. You go Boy! ;D
I use to work for Marvin Windows and Doors and I Love working with wood, miss it very much.
Mike
-
Awesome! Way to go, Rodster! :D
But why wood and not bricks for the walls? Wouldn't it be more durable?
-
Rod
come over here...I got a few jobs just waiting for you
-
Hey Rodney,
I'm impressed whenever a person decides to make a home uniquely their own by remodeling or adding on such a major project. Have the best day

Nadine, when they issued 100 mph winds last night and a tornado watch. I didn't get much sleep. You know I wouldn't stand a chance in my home. Out there they have a basement. I was ready last night to ditch the house and take the dogs and pups with me to my sisters basement. That cardboard box of mine wouldn't make good match sticks with that type of wind. It was fun today putting on the cross rafters over the breezeway. They didn't really want to go where I wanted them to go, but I finally got them in place. Hope to have it all sheeted tomorrow and most the shingles on.

Rab, it's getting insulated and drywall. It also will have heat in the garage and breezeway with A/C added to the breezeway. It's going to have a lot of electric outlets. You can never have enough. There will also be 4 outlets on the outside of the garage and two put in on the front porch. They added another job to the list today. They want one of the chimneys taken completely out and remove a wall that separates the kitchen from the living room.

I thought I better expain something for those that don't know me or where I live. This is not my home, it's my little sister's mother and father in-law's home. I live in a mobile home that is not as near as old or big as this old home where I'm working. These are the people I use to drive for and have been friends with for over 30 years. Thanks Mike for bring that to my attention. Assuming gets me in trouble every time. :D
-
OMG Rodney.....
Now that's what I call a project. You must be feeling "really good" to tackle something like that.
When you're done maybe you could drive down and tackle another one :o
Just kiddin...........
Have you built structures like this before???? Just wondering.......... :-*
-
Hey Rodney,
The first house I bought was a double wide mobile in a park in Redwood Valley. The park rent was higher than the loan payment and the seller had lowered the price to $10,000.00 when the realtor called. We toured, I offered and they accepted. After move in the realtor called to ask if everything was OK... Of Course, I just can't put a screw in straight and it is frustrating. The realtor replied, "Soon, you will be screwing everything." ;D ;D
;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D. Have the best day
Michael
(who still can't screw straight)

david25luvit, I worked building custom homes all through high school and for another 3 years after I graduated. My brother and I buit my home and I have helped build a few before I got sick. This is the first I've done since I've been ill.

I think it's all the more impressive now that you mention this. Do you have a 'crew', are you helping them build, or are you doing it yourself (yikes!)? Most of my projects reach a stopping point somewhere short of completion! ;)
-
David there is two of us. The other guy is their son in law. We should have the roof completed and shingled by tomorrow afternoon. That's if the rain holds off. After the roof is done I don't care if it rains. We have a lot of work that can be done on the inside.
-
Hey come up and build me a new one too. For some reason the previous owner of my house had the original garage totally rebuilt. Looks great, but its built to fit a Model T. Its a real challenge even to navigate the Crapolier into it ;D
The construction market is so hot around here that it would be impossible to even find anyone to build me a larger one and I certainly don't have the skills.

I would tell your partner to save her face and keep it above your waist until you sit in a box of Gold Bond for a week or two! Good recruitment ad for your local chamber of commerce tho :-\

Back to the building: You can always park an ATV in there or use it as a workshop! Just some creative thinking. Just when you feel good enough to take on a project......good luck, maybe try greasing the side doors and squeezing that vehicle in there!
Ron :-\
-
I told them to put four pool tables and a bar in it and park the cars in the barn. :D
-
That's an impressive erection you've managed there Rod
Aww come on everyone I'm disappointed no one has said that yet!
-
We were waiting for you Chris.. ;)
That's a hell of a project you've got going there Rod..and I thought we did well when we built a box on top of our flat top trailer to transport the Alpacas about...looks kind of puny compared to yours, and I was so proud of it as well... :D

I'm finished for the winter. Still have to install the outside lights. Next spring it's the front porch, unless we have some really nice weather this winter and vinyl the rest of the house this spring.
-
Wow..very impresive...I'm going to have the best looking barn in the community ..once you get started on it... ;)
Well done Rod it looks great.
Hugs

Looking sharp, Mr. Rodney! I admire people who can construct building/add-ons as such. Butch skills! :D. I can slap a shed together but never will you find a square corner.

LOL Mike, I haven't heard that song in years.
-
wow, that is impressive. love getting to see all the work in progress. i'm like camille....a project for me is rearranging my closet or something.
but i am with you, Rod....put a bar and stuff in it and keep the cars outside. i'm seeing a personal sports bar kind of thing going on. pool table, dart board, previously mentioned booze...not at all practical, but a helluva lot of fun.
-
WOW...I'm impressed...I thought painting my walls was a big project....
Well done you butch thing !!! :D
-
Roddles, honey, I always knew you were good with your hands! ;)
You built a building from scratch! I'm impressed.
I feel like a real loafer. I've been papering the living room with embossed wall paper. Ready to be painted now. I also ordered new windows for the living room, dining room and bedroom.
Hey, if your friends don't want all those nasty leftover bricks from that old fireplace, feel free to drop them in my driveway. I'm sure I could find some use for them. ;D
HUGS,
Mark

You did a kick ass job. It looks beautiful. Kudos

rod...
That's just beautiful. You certainly don't do anything half-assed do you? Just the opposite of me.... My slogan: "Good enough". Of course, it's usually not and that's only part of my problem.
Anyway, this is about you and you've done a great job. And not only does it look good but, my god, man, did you forget something? You've got AIDS!~! You're not supposed to be able to do anything like that!
And Mark, I hope you're waiting until next spring to put in those windows.
