Possible exposure? Protected Oral
« on: October 04, 2012, 11:50:38 pm »
Hello! Thanks for taking the time to read my story.

On September 8 I met a guy and proceed to have protected oral sex with him. Before engaging in oral sex I was masturbating the guy and had some pre-cum in my hand I forgot to wash my hand before engaging in oral sex with him .when he put the condom i forgot to wash my hands a started giving him a handjob before engaging in oral sex. He also fingered me but I don't remember if he touched his penis before thereby getting in contact with his precum. After I realized what I have done I stopped and ask him about his HIV status which he responded that hes HIV-

I went on September 10 to the doctor who recommended getting tested for Std and a CBC. All the test were negative and the CBC was unremarkable except for high neutrophils and low lymphocytes (I was feeling sick that week). She also recommended testing for HIV which I planned to do next Friday (34 days after exposure). At this moment I'm having a mild sore throat but no other symptoms.
My questions are; how accurate would my results be or should I wait to do the test at 6 weeks? Do I have high risk of Being HIV +? How long is the waiting period for my test results (antibody test)?

You never had an exposure in any of the situations that you have provided.

Just to chime in, absolutely nothing you did put you in the slightest risk for HIV infection.

HIV is sexually transmitted through unprotected anal and vaginal sex. Wear a condom for that and you will avoid HIV. It really is that simple.

"Many people, especially in the gay community, turn to oral sex as a safer alternative in the age of AIDS. And with HIV rates rising, people need to remember that oral sex is safer sex. It's a reasonable alternative."
