I have a mandatory meeting with the state health department  about my HIV diagnosis. What should I expect?  What should I tell them or not tell them?

they're probably just going to make sure you know 1) that you have HIV 2)that you'll need meds to stay healthy and 3) that you'll need to have safer sex to not spread HIV. They may ask for past sexual partners, so that those people can be contacted (anonymously by the health dpt) and told that someone they had sex with has HIV and that they might also be at risk and should be tested. (and that's not a bad thing. It not only helps get people tested in time; but you don't have to go back and disclose to anyone and deal with that. )

of course, depending on the state and the staff member, they can be nice or pricky (and stupidly un-informed) about this whole affair. Toss a coin and hope for the best.
