First off I think this is a great forum, and I appreciate any information you can provide me.  2 weeks ago I had unprotected oral sex from a transexual guy that I met on an online dating site. The act lasted 5 minutes ans I did ejaculate in the mouth. This is all that happened. I noticed no visible sores, and certainly didn't see any blood.  My concern is I shaved some of my pubes earlier that day and wonder if this had left tiny cuts which could be exposed to the virus?

I asked her if she was d&d free and she told me yes but I'm still skeptical and wondering would if. From what I've gathered from this site I have nothing to worry about but I guess I would just like some reassurance that I'll be OK.  I recently had an STD/ HIV test which all came back neg but that was before my encounter. Ive been having bad anxiety and feel like would if I'm that 1 in a million case? I also think this may be tributed to the fact that I am embarrassed and feeling really guilty.  Anyways please give me advice if you have any.  I haven't really had any symptoms other than occasional diarrhea, other than that I'm just very stressed out over this 5 minute blow job. Thanks for your help.

notsure,

Getting a blowjob is NOT a risk for hiv infection and none of the details you gave us change that fact. And you're not going to be "one in a million", because not one person has EVER been infected through getting blown and you're not going to be the first.

Not only is saliva NOT infectious, but it also contains over a dozen different proteins and enzymes that damage hiv and render it unable to infect.

Unless you're in the habit of repeatedly punching a person in the mouth before they blow you (or kiss you), there could not possibly be enough blood present to be of concern.

Here's what you need to know in order to avoid hiv infection:

You need to be using condoms for anal or vaginal intercourse, every time, no exceptions until such time as you are in a securely monogamous relationship where you have both tested for ALL sexually transmitted infections together.

To agree to have unprotected intercourse is to consent to the possibility of being infected with an STI. Sex without a condom lasts only a matter of minutes, but hiv is forever.

Have a look through the condom and lube links in my signature line so you can use condoms with confidence.

ALTHOUGH YOU DO NOT NEED TO TEST SPECIFICALLY OVER A BLOWJOB, anyone who is sexually active should be having a full sexual health care check-up, including but not limited to hiv testing, at least once a year and more often if unprotected intercourse occurs.

If you aren't already having regular, routine check-ups, now is the time to start. As long as you make sure condoms are being used for intercourse, you can fully expect your routine hiv tests to return with negative results.

Don't forget to always get checked for all the other sexually transmitted infections as well, because they are MUCH easier to transmit than hiv. Some of the other STIs can be present with no obvious symptoms, so the only way to know for sure is to test.

Use condoms for anal or vaginal intercourse, correctly and consistently, and you will avoid hiv infection. It really is that simple!

Ann,
Thank you for the quick response, I'm slowly feeling better everyday and I'm also seeking professional help to get my mind back in the right place.  What is your opinion on the take home test you can purchase at rite-aid? Says they're 99% effective or should I not even worry about this because I never have engaged in unprotected vaginal/ anal intercoursedince last testing negative 2 months ago. Thanks again you've really relieved me of some stress.  Take care everyone.

Wait. you GOT a blowjob?

Seriously?

It's absolutely NO RISK for HIV.

not,

Don't waste your money on the home test. You do not need it at this point as you have not engaged in unprotected anal or vaginal intercourse since your last test two month ago. You have not had a risk since then, which makes testing at this time unnecessary.

Hello,

Here is my story, around the start of November I began having sex with a 28 year old female (I am 26 year old heterosexual male) activities we engaged in were unprotected oral sex. Her giving me head and me performing cunalingus.  EVERY single vaginal penetration was protected.   I also fingered her and we kissed a lot.  We had sex approximately 15-20 times.

About a week ago I started experiencing pain in my inner thighs and armpits. No fever, no rash and feeling pretty normal otherwise.  I'm worried these are swollen nodes although I can't see or feel them.

Now I know typically HIV is not transmitted via oral sex but my question is would if she had another std such as syphilis or herpes.  Would this act as a conductor to pass HIV through oral sex? In other words would they pass together at the same time ?

I workout frequently and I'm thinking maybe the pains I'm having are from strains but it seems to coincidental.  I'm going to be seeing a doctor soon just wanted to see what you guys think.  Does this sound like it could be another std and not HIV? Any information is appreciated.  Thank you.

Not,

I've merged your new thread into your original thread - where you should post all your additional thoughts or questions. It helps us to help you when you keep everything in one thread. It doesn't matter how long it has been since you last posted in your thread or if the subject matter is different.

If you need help finding your thread when you come here, click on the "Show own posts" link under your name in the left-hand column of any forum page.

Please also read through the Welcome Thread so you can familiarize yourself with our Forum Posting Guidelines. Thank you for your cooperation.

The activities you took part in are not risks for hiv infection, regardless of the presence or absence of other STIs.
