New European Guidelines Address Issues of Age & HIV
« on: December 01, 2009, 11:22:19 pm »
I was stunned to read "Prevention and Management of Non-Infectious Co-Morbidities in HIV," just released by the European AIDS Clinical Society.  Why?  Because this report is so detailed and thorough yet easy to understand.  It addresses all the issues that have recently come to the fore regarding HIV and aging:  cancer, heart problems, bone disorders, etc.

Someone please correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't believe we have anything like this from appropriate medical/scientific bodies in the U.S.  And if we don't, why not?

I have not seen anything like that here in the states. It is quite extensive.

I wish they would come out with one we could refer to when we see out doc.

I guess I should clarify this by saying a guide that was as easy to access and understand. We do have guidelines here in the states, but, at least those I have seen are not nearly so comprehensive and include those issues facing those of us who are more than 50.

HUGS,

Mark

I'm looking for the footnote that goes with this asterisk but can't find it.   ???
