Hello,

I've also done the flaxseed oil before. I stick now with fish oil products, occasionally I may switch back and forth from the fish oil to the flaxseed oil. I also try other products, this is to mainly try to control my cholesterol.

I've used both fish oil and flaxseed products in the past for cholesterol balance.  My preferred (and least expensive way) of using flaxseed was buying the seed and grinding it.  Then, I read that fiaxseed has a more beneficial balance of omega essential fatty acids, so I've stayed away from fish oil for over threee months.  I also received about 8 pounds of flaxseed from the household of neighbors who died three days apart at ages 86 and 90 -- they put ground flaxseed in everything, and I have been doing that, too!

That is what I do.
My breakfast consists of :
- yoghourt
- 2 spoonfulls of grinded flaxseed
- 2 spoonfulls of flaxseed oil
- one apple
- half a banana
- nuts, berries and one tbsp of honey

As red hot mentioned , buying the seed, and grinding it yourself is probably the best way to go, for freshness.

If you buy the flaxseed oil. It need to be refrigerated, and it does have an expiration date on it, as it does go bad in time. Plus a spoonfull taste pretty crappy !!  :P
