New medication Complera

This is my first time in any HIV forum. I think I'm starting to open up after many years of being an HIV positive in the closet. I have been taking Kaletra and Truvada for many years with excellent results my counts are really good, but I have to battle diarrhea constantly with lots of UTI's  infections. I'm actually taking a daily preventive antibiotic and I still get the infections which the reason why I'm going to start a new medication. I will like to hear about other people taking Complera and how they have reacted to this medicine side effects??

Hi Lilita, welcome to these forum, it good to know your fine, but well, you can be better probably...  I´m sure would find very useful help here and don´t hesitate to make any question you need without fear, people is very friendly here.

About your question, I cannot help you because I´m not under treatment.  Anyway, it would help to know more about your number (CD4 and VL)...

Complera and me had a bad first few weeks... Mainly because of my CD4's and VL I went into an immune response.  I have to say now that I am over that it is a very east med to be on.  I still get hot flashes about 45 minutes after taking it... Sitting here with the air on 65 now as I type... I take mine with my evening meal as it seems to be the largest meal I eat. TAKE IT WITH THE RIGHT AMOUNT OF FOOD!!!!! If not invest in Charmen.  All in all it seems to have the least amount of side effects.  Look where it took my numbers in 45 days.   I get a new VL result tomorrow I am hoping to be Undetectable. Most of all Breathe in, Breathe out, move on.  You will make it.

Well I took my first Complera pill and I have to say I was  a little scared. I have been asking God to continue taking care of me as He has done up to this point in my life , When I first started my treatment I got so sick for about a week that I thought that was it for me. But after the week I started to get stronger and my CD4 count which was 90 in the beginning  started to get higher. Last time I went to the doctor it was around 550 and my viral load is undetectable. It has been already about 3 hours and everything seems to be okay Thank God :)
