Get your flu shots...
« on: November 15, 2013, 04:11:26 pm »
I didn't get a flu shot, though I kept meaning to. I just spent the last 3 days in bed, quasi-conscious from what I suspect was the flu.

Get your shots. I still feel like crap, and since I live in what is basically a home for the sick and dying, the psychological stress of being trapped here while ill is not to be ignored. Hopefully you don't have this last problem.

It's been a busy fall so I've procrastinated.  This year my after my July appointment the ID doc didn't feel the need to see me for 6 months so no convenient appointment time to get the flu shot.

I made an appointment at the Health Department for Monday.

I got mine in late September or Early October.  Even took the pink slip to my doctor so he could keep it in my records.
Pray God you can cope
I know you have a little life in you yet.
I know you have a lot of strength left.

Got mine October 30.  Hope you feel better.

Here's a question-- How many verify the injection they get?  I was doing it, after I they mixed up my Hep shots and I got the same one twice, instead of the next in the series.  Not dangerous or anything, but still.  And, they obviously checked what they gave me, because they are the ones who realized their mistake.

This time, there was confusion what vaccine I was due.  The nurse kept saying my pneumonia booster.  I said I'm here for the flu, and that I had to wait 4 more weeks (8 weeks in all) to get my booster.  I had the prenavir 13 four weeks prior and told I had to wait 8 weeks to get the 23 booster.  So, I asked whether that was really the flu vaccine she was about to jab me with.  I'm sure there wouldn't have been any issues, except not getting my flu shot when I thought I did.  So, just curious how many trust what is being stuck in them...no sexual pun intended.
