Post by: mikeyb39 on July 12, 2012, 09:06:57 am
hi all
i just need some advice.  the past few weeks when i have a bowel movement, the internal area is very sore, a little pain that lingers and sitting is uncomfortable.  having sex is painful unable to bottom, darn it!!

i had a couple external warts years ago removed, before i was posituve.  im gonna call my doctor but almost scared too.  there is no blood or bleeding going on.

It may as simple as Hemmoroids. Still go see the doc. In the past i had the same symptoms with Hemmoroids.

It very well could be something as simple as a hemmoroid.  You shoud still be regularly screened for anal dysplasia and cancer with an anal pap and HRA to rule out something more nefarious.  From my understanding the HPV strain that causes warts is different than te strain that causes dysplasia so just because you had one doesn't mean you have the other.

Mikey, forgot to add.  Not all HIV docs and not all HIV clinics are routinely screening patients for anal dysplasia.  Here in Seattle there are only two clinics that perform routine HRA's.

The University of California San Fransisco has a great website about anal cancer and anal dysplasia.  They also have a listing of doctors (you can search for your area) that perform anal pap's and HRA's.  If you havent seen it its worth a read.
