Definition of high viral load?
« on: October 08, 2013, 06:40:37 am »
Maybe my question is just naive...but...
When should a viral load be considered high or low?
1million? 500.000? 100.000? 10.000? 1000?
I'm asking about it due to many users generically referring to "high viral loads" as a factor improving chances of transmitting or re-transmitting the HIV.
As i often date S- people (or at least people i suppose to be negative) and my VL is around 35.000 i am just curious about it.

See http://i-base.info/guides/testing/viral-load

In terms of transmission anything over 'undetectable' is high enough, in terms of treatment etc, over 100,000
