This is a greatest hit in some circles.

Hey I saw her on Ferguson, which I don't often watch but did cause noticed she was on.  She was pretty fun and game once you adjusted a bit to how she's really from a different era.  The clip they showed from CSI Miami was dreadful, however.

Every year the classical industry glossies up a young fetching act and puts it out there.  Yuja Wang and her minidresses, anyone?  Lola Astanova.  David Garrett.

Or they really are just young, pretty, sexy and super talented. Why should they hide it? The videos can get a bit campy though, like this one of the dueling cellos.

When I was in my late 20's I fell completely in lust with a young assistant conductor in Manhattan.  He was brilliant, sexy, serious, blond, hung, gorgeous, nice, and lived in a luxury many room apartment on the West Side lent to him by a wealthy gay trustee of the institution, and if he wanted to he could go out every night to some swell party he was so much in demand by the elegant old ladies and gents. A girl has got to build her career, afterall!   This lust was repeated yet a year later for a dark cynical smoldering version of the blond, this time a painter.

Child please -- Miss P wouldn't be caught dead at an Elton engagement. Ever. Like even if it was free. I've also never gone to see Madonna, Cher, or Cyndi Lauper.

I don't even think I've been to a live show since seeing Herbert around 12 years ago at some hole in the wall place on the Lower East Side. That's more my speed and scene.

So I suppose the fact that I saw Barbra (and paid a pretty penny) just solidifies it in your eyes?

I, on the other hand, am not as fond of the name brands as you, have a child and some grandchildren and have served in combat, therefore I will consider who's "a little bit too gay" a draw!   :-*

ah, but I'm not a Prada-Gucci-Dolce name brand queen -- I'm much too elitist for such drivel. I gravitate to the Belgian and Austrian minimalist school -- Margiela, Lang, van Slobbe, Plokhov... and I won't even dare to discuss fine art here. Don't get me started on the beauty of Howard Hodgkin.

I saw Jason Russell interviewed and was thinking what a handsome gay guy , a little fem he is . I was shocked when he talked about his wife .

After seeing that video of him snapping in Z formation I'm thinking the crazies and nervous ticks may go away once he comes out .

Cute.  And they even managed to include a fat drag queen.  Wilson Phillips would be so proud.

Oh, and what the hell happened to your beloved Willam last night?  So unceremoniously kicked out of the show.  Boo Hoo.

I recently read Susan Cain's book Quiet: The Power of Introverts in a World That Can't Stop Talking and found it quite good. Being very introverted myself it was great to hear stories of other people who are "quiet" but successful in their respective fields. She discusses how and why American society is biased towards extroverts and why this is bad for everyone. She also cites recent psychological and neurological research, most of which I was unfamiliar, which explains introversion in terms of stimulation: introverts are neurologically more sensitive to stimulation (dial it down, please) and extroverts less so (crank it up!). Reading the book I realized how profoundly my introverted nature has affected life and the choices I have made in terms of career, choosing a partner, how I spend my time-- much more so than my sexuality. In fact I am currently in bliss because I scheduled 4 days off from work, my partner is out of the country, I have turned off my phone and have the house completely to myself. I know that sounds antisocial, and I wouldn't want this all the time, but I need a break.

Anyway, check out the video and if you find it interesting read the book.

Willam kicked off?  What injustice. He deserved a spot among the final contenders. In the video, can't keep my eyes off him. He's got something.  But I guess me using the "he" is a clue to his downfall.  Raja did gender fuck but I didn't fantasize about fucking him as a man....  or a drag either, for that matter.  That Willam, wanna do or be done by him/her as a boy, girl, or anything in between.

Madonna's newest video was on the net today. The address of the link is difficult to find.
Well there are lovely guys dancing in stilettos.  So one site said, hey, actually they are youtube stars already, in Ukraine.  (since february, only!?) Madonna certainly does source far and wide and quickly.  Or did they work late, on the sly, on the Madonna sets, and get out their own video before hers?

The gays are lighting up Facebook with this short film to "Edge of Glory."  They're calling it the gay version, but is there actually a straight version?  Anywho, it's kinda sweet.  And, has a twist--albeit predictable.

I have never seen and until today never even heard of identical quadruplets!

How are these produced - only through fertility treatments?

I've never seen them either. I once saw conjoined twins though.

Wiki says this "Quadruplets result from the rare occurrence when four eggs are released and fertilized at once, or when one egg splits into four, or one egg splits into three with the fourth one fertilized, two eggs split into two, or one egg splits and two are fertilized. One famous set of quadruplets includes the Genain quadruplets who were identical quadruplets who all developed schizophrenia."

I have never seen and until today never even heard of identical quadruplets!

How are these produced - only through fertility treatments?

Identical quadruplets are not directly caused by fertility treatments.

Fertility treatments stimulate the ovaries to release multiple eggs during one cycle - so each baby conceived is the result of an individual egg being fertilised and therefore are not identical.

Of course, that's not to say that one or more of those artificially stimulated and fertilised eggs can't split to produce identical twins, triplets or quads, which each additional split being more rare (ie identical twins are common as compared to identical triplets and identical quads being more rare still).

IVF fertility treatments consist of individual eggs being fertilised outside the woman's body and then implanted into the womb, and most often more than one fertilised egg is implanted during the procedure to increase the chances that one "takes". Again, you will only get identical siblings from this procedure if one of the fertilised, implanted eggs splits one or more times after the implantation has taken place.

So no, fertility treatments are not directly responsible for identical quads. Identical babies of any number are down to "mother nature" and not scientific intervention.

PS - there were identical quads born somewhat recently in Germany

A 31-year-old German woman gave birth to identical quadruplets, an event so rare doctors place the odds at 13 million to 1, and experts say their are only about 60 such sets in the entire world.

The four girls – Laura, Sophie, Jasmin and Kim – were not the product of artificial insemination, according to the German English language paper The Local.

Hard to put my finger on what exactly Johnette's interesting look is referencing in that video.

Wondering what would have happened if The Heads had been a go.  David Bryne is a kill joy.

Keith Olbermann on Letterman discussing his firing from Current TV last Friday.  Olbermann was fired from MSNBC just as Comcast took majority control in NBC Universal.  I really thought someone at Comcast wanted him gone.  I don't know now.  He seems to not be telling the whole truth with the Current TV deal.  He dances around questions like he's on DWTS.  Although, his show had gone to just him with some basic lighting.  It appears Current TV had some major technical issues.  He seems to have the Rosie O'Donnell problem--very difficult and has a very hard time when not the boss.

Keith Olbermann is such a pompous ass I used to watch him simply for the joy of watching a master pompous ass do his work . Especially cringe worthy was when he would read a book for the last five minutes of his show , it was kind of like being tucked into bed by a creepy stranger where you almost expected to feel a hand creep up under your sheets .

Dave and James Franco for President.  Dave can be the George Bushy average joe president and James can use his acting chops to be the Nancyesque First Lady who is pulling all the strings.
