Do I suffer self-centeredness to the point of criminality? Immaturity exacerbated by financial well-being? No. My immaturity is money-free.  :P

The judge isn't known for his well-balanced rulings. The ruling isn't surprising, though. One only has to look back at Laura Lane Welch and Ted Kennedy as two well-known precedents for this ruling.

Does wealth create affluenza sufferers? Yes it does. But there are many who have avoided its curse also. Outliers get the attention and create confirmation bias. You don't hear about the kids who were raised well and reflect their upbringing positively. You hear about the bad apples, because their behavior makes the news.

I expect the ruling to be appealed -and the families of the victims suing the defendant in civil court and prevailing against him.
Reality is frequently inaccurate.

I read a quote from an attorney that said " I would rather be rich and guilty than poor and innocent " .

He was saying what we all know to be true and that's justice is for sale or injustice is a symptom of poverty .
