Had the Stribild Chat with Doctor
« on: November 08, 2013, 09:28:08 pm »
Well, I talked to my doctor about Stribild.  Although I am doing well on my current regimen he said that I can try a switch if I wanted to or simply stay where I am.

Other than the 1 pill daily dosage as an enticement, I have no other hard pressing reason to switch.

I am also a little hesitant given my low dose regimen for over 10 years and whether I can go back to it if I switch and don't like Stribild. My doctor said that I would likely be able to go back to the low dose regimen if I choose. My labs and overall health remain fine as is.

At least I had the conversation.

I recently switched to Stribild and I love it.  I had no side effects whatsoever and taking one pill a day is so much more convenient.  I had been taking Isentress and Truvada and I had to take the Isentress twice a day.  You wouldn't think moving from three tablets to one would make such a big difference but it does.  With everything else being equal, the change is worth it for that alone.

Another plus is that Stribild is considered safe for pregnancy so I didn't have to switch to Combivir/Reyataz/Norvir when I got pregnant.

I love it!
