My doctor gave me the Atripla Copay which I really could use but Medco refused to take it with no real explanation as to why not. I usually get my 90 day supply of medication through the mail. Has anyone had this happen with them?

Are you insured? The co-pay cards I'm familiar with are used by those who are insured and the pharmaceutical company then picks up the co-pay difference. I offer this because I have co-pay cards for Truvada and Isentress. If you don't have insurance, then I don't know of when or if a co-pay card comes into play.

I have group insurance through my employer. I get my prescription from Medco mail order. Do I have to use a local pharmacy to save money on my Copay?

That's a question I can't answer, but I can tell you what I would do. Call the number on your Atripla card and ask them how to handle the situation.

When I went to first use my Atripla copay card, it was declined. The pharmacy apparently didn't know how to run it. I went ahead and paid the copay.
The next day, I called the number on the back of the card. They told me how to explain the process to the pharmacist, and they issued me a check to reimburse the money I paid. The check arrived a few weeks later.
So, yes. Call that number and they'll take care of you.

They take it, they probably just don't know how. The Co-pay card as I understand it consists of the maker of the product just paying your copay for you, because they portion they get from your insurance makes it worth their while.

I just filled my first script yesterday using copay cards (I'm not on Atripla, but Reyataz/Norvir/Truvada)...so I have 3 copay cards....the nurse who brought in the script and the cards told me which pharmacies in the area to go to because many of them are not familiar with how to work them, even though they should all take them. Now I need to find out how to use Aetna's mail order prescription using the copay cards so I don't have to travel 30 miles to get my meds each month...(I live in a small town so I'm afraid to get my script filled locally.....)
